Just Asking

Your observed increase in rwhp with the addition of Meth injection may be the first time that anyone has been able to document an increase due to meth...it has been tested and tested, but no one to my knowledge has ever documented a meth attributable hp increase...did you do anything else? Tune, headers, cat delete too or was your dyno after just the meth? Sometimes timing gets changed due to meth injection and that might be the reason for the increase.

If not...super, but we will have to back up your data with someone else doing a before and after meth injection to be sure.

Roy

On Monday morning first thing we did was dyno the truck before Joe even touched it (also dynoed Vipertruck2933's right after mine)...628 rwhp/640 rwtq (Joe was kind of suprised the numbers were this high). We then added Boomers heat exchager in conjunction with the stock Paxton heat exchanger.

Then, Joe installed the VEC3 and tuned the truck so I could have a program without water/meth (for road racing)...672 rwhp/660 rwtq.

Then, we added the water/meth and tuned for it through the VEC3...702 rwhp/667 rwtq. Nothing else had changed as far as any other bolt on mods or stuff of the sort. So, the water/meth gave me an additional 30 rwhp/7 rwtq.

Best case scenario is to use it in conjunction with your Stage II pcm because the Stage II turns off the WOT timer delay and initiates the cooling fan at lower temps. ;)

The VEC3 elliminates the WOT delay ;) So the only benefit is the fan temp...alot to pay if you ask me....Could lower temps with a $150 fan :D

Just got off the phone with roe.. I am going to take it to joe let him do the install and tuning and maybe water/meth:D Gotta save some $$$ first though...

Yeah but he already has the Stage II, so there's no add'l cost involved. He could actually save alot (like me) by picking up a used VEC II. ($600 for me) :dontknow:

REALLY??? Where did you get yours from?

Kyle, if you buy new, go through Joe, he is a Roe Dealer. He may be able to dig up a used one as well.

On the Meth injection, timing was increased on Daves truck, hence the power increase. On an SRT4, I use it to pick up about 2 psi in boost (safely) using the same gas. In that situation it is worth about 10-15 WHP per # of boost.

Bad thing about water/meth and the increased timing...pump failure and KABOOM on the motor. I have a seperate program that I can run that wont activate it...I'll most likely use it for the road courses.

Yup...when a system fails trouble occurs.

Sean considered an additional fuel pump when he did my top mount install, but felt that there were just too many chances for one pump or the other to fail and there not be any indication...with only one fuel pump, if it fails, the truck won't run...which is a pretty good indication that something is wrong...with two pumps, one might fail, but the truck could still run albeit very lean...which can lead to disaster.

The LED light with meth injection is as important as the shift light.

I've got the led light, but it wont tell you if the pump fails. If it does, it wont be in time I'm thinking :(

If the light is hooked to a pressure switch that is activated when their is pressure in the meth line it would be good. But if it is just actived by power being sent to the pump you are right, the pump could be dead or a whole in the line and the light would still come one.

I don't know how Roe wires up the light but I am sure Prof can let us know?
