I don't really care about this subject, but I stumbled upon a little bit of information that just got me wondering...

The QC and RC have different tires from the factory. The QC have and extra "QC" stamped in after the DOT code. The factory book says the QC had 4 season tires, and the RC has 3 season tires.

Now, does anyone know exactly what that means???

First i've heard of this I thought they all came with Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asimetrico's??? :dontknow:

The taction rating is less on the QC tire....Tirerack and others list the size 305/40/22 twice....one for the RC one for the QC....

I assume it has to do with the payload capacity of the QC...

I would have never learned it if I hadn't been browsing through the shop manual!

I have a durometer but my tires are 3 years old.

Ok, anyone who has a durometer, raise their hands....

That is not your everyday tool right there....

Stretch (durometerless)

A duro-who:confused:

If you even know what that is you know a lot more than I do about tires, LOL.:p

A durometer gages the hardness of the rubber. It's the same as Rockwell for metals.

I believe the difference is because the QC is rated for towing, and the RC is not.

Bill.

Maybe its just a difference in maximum weight allowable for the tire. I will look at my tires later today to see what the maximum payload is.

You know your family could have you Baker Act committed because of that kind of behavior!
