Had anyone here ever done any vehicle recovery (repo) work or bail enforcement....?

Just curious if someone has first hand experience......

Certainly not your normal 9-5.......

I deal with repo companies and have heard some stories. I do car loans so repo is inevitable. The guys I've known who do it are a different breed for sure. More than you might think it is detective type work. People get crafty about hiding their cars if they think a repo is coming.
 
I wouldn't want to get shot at for a living.

Big props to our policemen and military folk, but I'm sure that this work definitely would not be for me. Hehe.

Tim,
Did both (to make ends meet) when I was a bit younger. Long hours, lots of time spent away from home, but it can be a good income if you are connected with the right folks. Just got to be real careful and do your homework first.
These days there are many more Rules and Regs. to comply with, not like when I did it. One could do almost anything then to accomplish recovery unlike today.
 
What kind of info. you need? My dad is a State of Florida recovery agent. I help him in finding them and go with him to pick em up. It is a real adrenline rush. With the economy like it is, we have been picking up one to two a week lately. Let me know if we can help you.

It's called -- midnight madness acquisition. They are probably stealing something that you don't even own. mortgage, lone, credit card. Your choice -- start shooting and let GOD sort it out.
Around here the repo has to notify the precinct in the area. If they do not? You call the police and they show up they will most likely tow your vehicle away, and you will be arrested for detaining the repo company. bobbymac aka therambler
 
got a buddy that repos, with his wrecker service. he hasnt had any trouble. there are a lot of tricks to the trade from what he says. especially picking cars up from projects.(which is a no-no) he trys to wait till he can find them getting gas, when they go in to pay for it he will hook the car up. but we live in a small town.

I don't think he or she want to repo anything. You don't want something repossessed? If you cannot pay the bill you are subject to a repo. House, car, plane, etc. etc.. You stole something in an honest way? You think you can make it right but the original owner (SELLER), does not. THEY WANT THE MONEY! If you want to be an honest thief? Hide it. The repo guy can not come into your dwelling, or onto your property with out a court order. You better believe the cops will be there when they come to repo. If the repo company has a court order? Try and stop them and you go straight to jail. Hide it if you can? Now you can only look at it and wish! the rambler

What is legal and what is done to repo by repo agents are two very different things. Put your car in the garage...won't stop a good repo agent even if it's illegal to take it from the garage. Oh you have an electric garage door and you think the repo agent can't open your door. Think again. Oh and when you tell the police that your vehicle was taken from your garage I hope you have video footage because it will be your word (a guy who can't pay his bills) against the repo agents and the repo agent is going to say it was outside. Just one of the many illegal things many repo agents will do.

I just hoped it would give you a smile. I can imagine it sucks, but you can get out of bed by yourself, and have an active mind...people are envious of what you have!
