Holy Crap this was grueling. I've been in Neosho, MO for the last week going through "boot camp" for Con-way Truckload/CFI. Long days of training and learning regs and procedures. Lots of driving tests-early morning, night, traffic, obstacle course, backing, etc. Lots of pressure, and I haven't even been officially hired yet. I basically had to unlearn everything I was was taught in my CDL class, as the real world of truck driving is different than what you need to know to get your class A license. The instructors here are very tough, but I learned more here in a week than the month I spent at driving school. We did get to have some fun, though. Check out the video links, this isn't my group, but its the same pad, trucks, and maneuvers:

I was cleaning skidmarks from my drawers
Tomorrow I go back to Joplin, MO, for more interviews and tests before I actually get an official job offer. I don't think I'll get any sleep until I have that offer in my hand. Then I go on the road for 7500 miles with a trainer before getting my own truck. There are currently over 100 new hires waiting for trucks because driver's aren't leaving the company as often as they were 2 months ago.
This has been the most difficult thing I have ever done, I can't wait for it to be over so I can see my wife and my 10.
