I cant go into particulars, but suit has been filed against dodge by mary woodruff[woodys wife] . Mary hired a forensic engineer to investigate woodys truck due to the circumstances of the accident. He made his conclusions. She then hires a second forensic guy and not telling him about the first guy he came to the same conclusions. These guys are very expensive but she wanted to be sure of what she was doing. This has been going on since february. On july ninth at 4;30 the dodge engineers will be here to investgate the truck. The truck will be taken to the local dodge dealer where dodge and the forensic guys will get together and see if they can agree. What i am about to say is not what the forensic guys have said or the attorneys. These are MY OPINIONS based on 30 years as a mechanic and my knowledge of performance vehicles. ONE woodys air bags failed period. TWO his truck had been in 7 times for steering issues. It had 2 p/s pumps replaced, 2 rack and pinions, 1 module valve and so on, three his seatbelt did not lock. Come to find out there is a recall on my truck for the seatbelt and i have not recieved a letter. Next , these trucks are in guinesess book of world records made by the srt division of dodge , which stands for street and racing technology. I believe when you move up to a 22 inch wheel on a 500 hp truck you shouldnt use the same steering components used on the base ram sporting a v6. There is more stress on a truck with 22 inch wheels than one with 17 inch wheels. Just like my sons 3500 ram, we put 35 inch mickey thompsons on it , 15000 miles later the pump failed thats our fault we knew that going in. We put another one on it and go. The bottom line is on a truck of this caliber the safety aspects should function. I love my truck and intend on keeping it. But i hope this will bring a few things to light for me and other srt owners.
