Well this will probably only appeal to the so-cal guys but i just got back from the 1/8th and wow...I wish fontana and LACR had this kind of prep..I only got one crappy one run in since i got their late but i managed to click off an easy 2.0 60ft and i bogged bad off the line. I missed third but i was already done before i needed it. I managed to click off an 8.9 which i know i can easy get down to 8.5...However the bad stuff about the track was that it was an 8th, crowded, and they didnt let me open the cutouts...GAY....
However this place is sticky and great for local racin...Man i think i'm really gonna get those 4.88s now..

I've telling you guys about the prep...A couple of buddies of mine were down there tonight with some 03-04 cobras. I cut a 1.601 60' there with the SRT:D

Yeah you werent kidding at all!!!!!! That track BITES!!!! WHAt also helped was when the lane that went right before us was nuthin but slicks and blowers which i remember mike saying is perfect before runnin. I think i might seen some of your buddies there, i only saw one cobra run that pulled a 6 and well over a hundred mph..he had that thing swingin but never let off...

Call me next time you go there FT, I live about 10 mins from there :D.

Great times, what RPM did you launch at?

The track woudnt let you open your exhaust cutouts ? that is gay, do they have semi-pro cars there ?

they must have a noise ordinance , cause of houses near by

haha, rightfully so, but sure beats getting a ticket from po-po

No noise ordinance that I know of, not a lot of houses, mostly dumps and quarries (sp?). In fact they run the stock cars up there pretty late at night, 11 or later.

humm was my best guess,, i cant think of any reason why a track wont let you run open exhaust ? Never heard that before.

I'm assuming your truck is an '04 with the 4.11 gears?:dontknow:

Yeah, if you've got traction, 4.56's or 4.88's are great for cutting sub 2.0 60's!!

Though, I'm with Mikey - I can't stand 1/8th mile tracks.:p I guess it's better than getting caught street racing though...

Yeah i rather run a 1/4 but being that the nearest 1/4 is still at least an hour away plus traffic i thought i give it shot. This is where most of the technique takes place anyway...This is as close as it gets to street racin as most of time i only grab 1 and 2nd. Even so i think (nowwhat) should run at irwindale at least for practice...Hell this track had all the elements we dream of when were at lacr or fontana. GReat air, good prep, and even a line of slicks and big blocks to warm up the track right before i ran. i feels good to go from 9 2.4 60ft runs to a 2.0 60ft and for once boggin when dumping at 3k. I bet if get the 4.88s, 18"drs, dc flash, shit i will be kicking the shit of even the 7.2 second vw's. i'll post up next time i go for those you interested

not neccesarily, i know those v-dubs will run out of speed in a 1/4. On a track like this i think the key to whippin ass is low gearing. so 4.88s plus the drs which are shorter for more gear reduction will equal great accel . this would only work on a 1/8 mile track
