Just installed a set of plugs in the 10. The passenger side was a piece of cake. The driver's side was a royal pain in the ass. Well mainly the last two. All I gotta say is...If Mickey can have a gtg to help install BlackViper's engine, I got no problem hosting the next gtg in about 15,000 miles to install the next set of plugs in my truck.:D :top:

A plug installing GTG?..........hmmmm...I have a set I plan to install in my truck next week......that GTG thing might be the ticket to saving my back reaching those last cylinders..:marchmellow:

For sure brother. :)

It is a little extra work but it makes things much easier. Jack up the front and remove the front wheels and fender liners. You reach right in from the sides and get the plugs. As opposed to laying on top of the motor and reaching down and trying to get the back plugs.

just buy headers then it will take you 20 min to do.:marchmellow:

Thats kinda what I did except I was getting the headers re-coated and figured I would change the plugs with them off and the truck pulled apart already. Very easy. Except for a header bolt snapping off (arrrgghhh!!!).

But if I were changing them again I think I would still pull the inner fenders out and do it that way. Using a plug boot puller and channel locks to remove the heat sheilds made it a snap.

Removing the boot heat shields is the key. After their gone, piece of cake:rock:

plugs.jpgThe trick is have a friend that is small get into your engine and pull out those plugs............

These trucks should come with a little troll for all those hard to reach items:D

He is one of the nicest, most generous men i know, he stopped everything he was working on to help me out that day..He cleans up well! It was hotter than hell that day...That is some funny shit though... :D  :thefinger:

Cant be anywhere near as hard as changing them on an fbody car.
Went with the factory plugs, as that's what most have recommended. It may be in my head, but the truck does seem to run better.
