Just received my 2005 srt-10 truck Need Advice

Hi all, I am new to this club. Just joined yesterday and just received my truck last Thursday. I would like to know your input on a few things.
I want to add an air intake system and exhaust pipes to get some more performance and that deep toothy rumble sound. Can you please give me some suggestions on this. I am looking at a K&N air intake and B&B exhaust. Does anyone have any feedback on these 2. Or should I be looking at something different. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome! You will love it here.

First, research, read and decide where you want to take your truck. Create a complete plan, and decide if that is exactly what you want to do...then be ready to pay.

Your post is like most initial posts, you want looks, performance and sound...

A few facts:

1. Your truck will never sound like a V8...it is impossible...it can sound great, but not like a V8. The exhaust system you select will depend on what you like in sound, what you are willing to spend, and how far you are willing to push the envelop environmentally and legally. If you are in California you have only a few options, if you are in Florida there are no constraints.

2. CAI will not improve performance. In every test done by respected shops, every CAI failed to yield additional hp. It is great for bling, and sound, but it does not help the SRT 10 run better.

3. We cannot respond to your questions if we do not know your plan...i.e. if you are going to want to add forced induction (supercharger) then you are wasting your money if you go with the K&N CAI...you will have to throw it away. If you want to have long tube headers, then that dictates part of the exhaust answer...

So do some reading, there are lots of threads here...then give us your long term goals and we will make every attempt to provide input with our experiences and give you the benefit of our mistakes!

Have fun and enjoy your ride! Try to come to the SE GTG (don't know where you are at) in Panama City! That will be the best place to get ideas for your truck!

I bought it from Pensacola florida and had it shipped up to Jersey. It has 9340 miles with out a scratch. The color is the red clearcoat with the black interior. The windows are tinted and I hope I dont have a problem with inspection here. I will post some pics as soon as I find out how.
I would like to support this group by purchasing from its members so how can I get a list of items here?

You buy it from a dealer or a person here in Pensacola?
 
congrats on the 10. if you are asking about CAI and exhaust, you have been bitten by the mod bug. and you can look at spending alot more cash. i started with the same mods, then got the sct and then had to have catless mids.
