So I'm trying to find a driver for my SD card reader (Which isn't working or I'd have you guys some pics of the interior redo on my truck I've been working on) and I happened upon a product that caught my attention and made my head tilt.

mainly because its mac oriented...
So, you're not into things that offer stable performance and the peace of mind that comes with knowing it won't seize up on you at a crucial moment?
:D

PS: Macs Crash too ; )
My former Mac, a G3, was powered on and running (online 24 hrs. a day) for 7 YEARS straight.
Never locked up once.

Don't bother trying that with a PC. It simply won't happen.

I had a few MS applications fail, but the Mac NEVER went down.
Ever.

I have a Microsoft Zune, It plays more things than an Ipod, plus it has a radio. I also have it hooked up in my truck, plays videos and everthing. with a remote control, you cant beat it.

I HATE APPLE, AND ALL WHO LIKE APPLE PRODUCTS!(no offense) EVERY Ipod my family bought broke VERY QUICKLY, including mine, which was NEVER dropped or anything.

PCs rule, we have our own operation system that people actually write programs for. Plus my PC Has never locked up, and I never turn it off. Its been running for 3 years. What can you do with your 7 year old MAC?? Use it as a light??

Sorry if I was rude, but you MAC poeple are a joke.

lol :D GJ Jeff The war has begun : P

My thing with mac is they tend to be targeted more toward entry level computer users (aka Computer Tards) (Hence the commercials targeted toward the easily impressionable audiences) And my problem (one of) with a lot of mac users is that they tend to find animosity toward Microsoft because it's a "Monopoly" Which may be true enough but I think they did really well for themselves and are profiting from it nicely. Maybe theres nothing wrong with either one. Most high end music production is done on Mac.

Most 'mac people' are quick to jump the "I hate PCs bandwagon" so they feel special and different (not you necessarily) when they don't really have anything to substantiate that idea.

In conclusion; Mac Sux

Actually I don't care, I'm just feeling contrary and any of the above was just off the top of my head without any strong opinion behind it. I'm a P/C user though so I'm sticking on this side.

-Time to install a new HDD on the Mac: 15 minutes. (would have been 10 but I lost one of the screws and had to dig it out)
-Time to install a new HDD on the PC: NINE f-ing DAYS. (software updates, firmware updates, had to upGRADE the OS, etc.)

I don't have a lot of time to waste, so it's an easy decision for me.

I run both platforms here so I'm able to note performance of each. If you're crunching numbers, the PC is great.
If you're doing anything else, esp. online, the Mac wins. Hands down.

Azmal- Thanks for brining up the music thing. To paraphrase the late Mr. Bill Hicks:
[if you hate Macs and all they stand for]"...do me a favor. Go get all your tapes and CDs....gather 'em all up....and take 'em outside and BURN THEM! Why? Because all that music that's enhanced your life throughout the years......"[all touched by a Mac].

"Late" Bill Hicks??? He's dead? When tha hell that happen?

And about the HDD, takes no time to put a HDD in.... to install windows or any OS it takes a while if thats what you're talking about. I dunno, maybe the PC has a bigger learning curve but I think once you've got it down it's faster all around, maybe its just me, I dunno. I wouldn't want to argue the point since I'm pretty ignorant about macs in general.

Well, with XP Pro, it's not quite so simple. See, I needed Service Pack 2 in order to install a HDD bigger than 160GB. So, I download SP2 and begin the (painful) process of "upgrading" the OS. SP3 hadn't been released yet, so SP2 was packed full of more bugs than Crispin Glover's shorts. I had to go get SP2a.
Needless to say, SP2a was actually a bigger disaster than SP2, so it had to be uninstalled. When I say "bigger disaster" I mean with SP2 at least 50% of my apps and files showed up and worked properly. SP2a set a new record with only about 20% being recognized and working. (Ironically, none of the MS Office apps showed up until I "un-upgraded") I'm not talking porn apps or weird stuff; I'm talking about my CAD software, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, et. al.

All non-OS apps & devices needed all new drivers. Gotta go download those from their respective sources. Fun.

Physically installing the drive was easy. It's everything else that took for-f-ing-ever.

And even after all this, the f-ing cursor still shows as I type in Outlook.
Come on, Billy. That's 8th grade computer camp stuff.

I'll be damned. Good thing this thread isn't getting a lot of attention or I'd might have ta feel stupid :D

Guess everyone is immortal when they're stored on your hard drive.

At least George Carlin is still alive and kickin'. At least he better be, I'd be pissed if he croaked without my knowing :D

I think the biggest problem with 'PC's' are there are so many manufactors of them. They are all competeing trying to get the lowest price, so they cut quality. Lower quality = well lower quality. I bought a high end, sony computer, 6 years ago. Its only been off when i moved. While MAC on the other hand controls all the quality of their product, so they are able to offer a more stable base.

I've only had one computer that never crashed, it was running DOS!!! All GUI computer will crash, there are memory leaks that cant' be accounted for.

yeahh who the hell is this mac guy anyway:dontknow: :D

The Whole thing just PISSES me off. 'MAC people' think that everything else sucks. They remind me of Ford Lightning owners, they can't appreciate the good things, always looking at the bad. How the hell that guy would be able to buy one of these trucks is beyond me. These trucks have so many bad qualities for the money it is ridiculous. I still love my truck, and knew exactly what I was doing when I bought it. I'm a truck guy, its just that simple. I probably never own anything but a truck(everyday driver). I've had a Syclone, Typhoon, and an Avalanche, and like the SRT-10 the most.

Sorry I had to Vent, He shoulda bought a L.
