Hey everyone...

Did my install last night and had a few small issues getting the boot on the right angle. I called Justin and within 5 mins of our call, had it all worked out. :burnout:

Yes, pics will follow.

Just wanted to say Justin is a class act and makes a very nice looking product.

what was the fix...because I had the same problem... It was a real P.I.T.A !!! It was too late in the evening to call Justin.

Okay, the abridged version.....

My install story...

1. should have waited more than 1 hour to try install on hot motor.
2. The little black zip tie used to close off breather under intake manifold is gone. Used a hose clamp instead. ( Dont try to install that with the engine still warm. Burned off all hair on my right forearm.)
3. Existing stuff came out with a prob.:)
4. I installed the boot onto the throttle body about 6 times before I got the right 30 degree angle to get the tube level and straight. The key was to install the boot by itself and snug it up enough so that you could still rotate it, but not slip off. That was the PITA part about the install. Justin pre-installs the tube into the boot but there is so little clearance to move around things so I took it off the boot. That was mistake #1.
5. Rest of install went pretty well. No scuffs, no scratched knuckles, no blood. (guess is was not a complete job then).

Instructions are very good. 06's have to drill the box to the fender and use a self tapping screw. Without the boot issue I could have been done in less than an hour. Overall it took me 2 hrs with taking off the boot a half dozen times. :(

The geomtery of the tube and boot must be right on since there is little clearance. The turn is so tight that more than a 1/4 off on the rotation of the boot and things dont line up right. :(

Beautiful product and look forward to buying more from Justin when I get the chance.

Apparently that was my mistake too...I took the tube off the boot...man it was a pain in the butt to get everything lined up. Actually, I think the biggest problem was that the mini silicon sleeve that attaches directly to the tube to fill in the gap between the tube and the boot needed to be wider. That would have saved me about an hour worth of alignment issues. But now that it is installed, the set up looks great! I am especially fond of the catch can...that is one fine piece of equipment!

If the boot was pre-molded to the oval shape to fit onto the throttle body, that would solve 99% of the problem. You have to kinda rotate it to get the right angle so the tube aligns correctly.

Waiting for my K&N filter for the catch can to show up. did not come in the package by mistake.

I know... pics coming....

Also noticed that I am running 20 degrees cooler than the stock set up. And..... It sounds great at WOT...

I did get a cool color though... well, red but in the metallic gloss 2 stage. It sparkles.... :D

Nice...

:needpics:

You going to get the rad. hard-pipes and valve covers done in the same color? :dontknow:

Eventually... All in time. Been reading how much fun the hard pipes are to install. ;) I think next mod will probably be the SCT programmer. Then go for the clutch upgrade and engine dress up kit from Justin as well.

Will take some shots soon. Been driving my other rig last few days. :(

This thread is completely worthless without pics. :D

Ohhh!!! Purty! Can I touch? :D
