Tap the large dirt particles out of the filter, spray it down with K&N filter cleaner, rinse with warm low pressure water till water is clear, re-oil with K&N oil. Be careful not to overoil. The cleaner and oil can be found at O'Rielly's or Advanced Auto, maybe even Autozone. Jim
How often should you clean these things? This is the first one I have owned. I drive about 3 to 4 k a year. Its been in about a year and is still very very new looking. patrick
Take a hose pipe and hose the piss outta it from the inside out and be done with it,, it will aslo retain most of the oil in the filter. bada bing! doneit for years now, never did follow instructions,:dontknow: LOLOL
Regardless of what Stinker says, do not hose it down with a high pressure hose. It will tear apart the microscopic fibers that act as part of the filter. You will not be able to see the damage, but it will be there. Also be sure to rinse in the opposite direction of the airflow. Otherwise you will just trap dirt deeper in the filter.
How does the K&N hold up in the rain. Anyone who has driven through the southwest during the monsoon season will understand why I ask
Well yeah i did say a "hose pipe", I didnt say go to the local car wash and blast it to smitherins!LOLOLOL But also I may have said wrong yes, make sure its opposite of the air flow so that the dirt that is blown accros the filter is knocked out , I think I said from the inside out and that would be incorrect , thank you for correcting me.
