Here's a couple pics of the new K&N drop in replacement filter for our trucks that still have the stock air filtering system, compared to the stock one.

Then I got looking at the Air Box... Kinda restrictive isn't it. Should it have more breathing room. Maybe I should look into a CAI ...????

Any comments/feedback Appreciated ....

i dyno'd the s&b drop in air filter and gained 5hp at the rear. i currently have the k&n drop in. as far as gains i went with the drop in. more bang for the buck. jmb has an awesome looking cai though.

Why the change ? Is the K&N better flowing ? Are these the only two available ?

Does the drop in one give you the cool sucking sound you get with the CAI kit?

Not that I have noticed ... Judging from the enclosure I'm surprised it gets enough air anyways ... Think I may end up with a CAI, common sense would tell you that it should breath better...????:dontknow:

I think it would be cool to make a dual air intake like the viper has. I saw them fabricate on on Muscle Car this weekend. I'm going to do something similar. I think if you route the tube downward and have the two filters flush against the honey comb grill on the front fascia it may work. I'm not an engineer, though. At least it would look somewhat cool.

Let me know how you make out ... Sounds like it will work ...

Thanks for the feedback .....

CAI's are for sound and looks only, and they are a "sick bird" in most states.

I went with a K&N Aircharger set up as Justin wasn't around when I got mine but the sound and way it looks and cleans up the whole engine bay is well worth it imo... opinions on gains vary!!
