04........I am having some issue with a dead battery. I have narrowed down the culprit to fuse 51 curcuit. It is Leaking 1.04 amps with key off and all doors closed. I have disconnected the hood light and the Radio (i installed an aftermarket Nav. unit with a couple of amps) and nothing has changed. Has anyone had trouble with their cluster? or this same issue? my searches are in vain!! any help will be appreciated.......

It seems to have started after stereo/amp install or no? Aftermarket alarm? Nothing plugged in Cigar lighter? I think that's also the IOD fuse as well. Ignition off Draw fuse. I've seen this fuse out and no reading from PCM or DLC. Maybe a draw that's PCM related? I know it says cigar/hood light but I think there's more to that circuit.

There is more on the circuit. I haven't come up with any ideas as of yet just looking over the wiring diagram

Thanx for your help!! yes it started after the stereo install but i have disconnected all the wires twice already. something is using power consistently. like a light. The fuse tag calls it "hood light, radio and cluster. i have ruled out hood light and Radio. I will have to remove the cluster and find the connector. to see if that changes it. gonna go through it again tonight

glove box light on that circuit???

If it started after the radio install I would focus my attention on that. 99% of the time when a problem starts after a modification or repair, it's in that area. Maybe unplug the cluster too to see if the draw goes away.

The remote won't unlock the doors with that fuse pulled so you are correct there are more circuits off that fuse. I will look at it again this afternoon

Do you have the wiring diagrams? If not I can post them in this thread for you.

I found the plug in the back of the dash cluster to be the problem
Have you a drawing of the gauge cluster?

Well i feel alittle stupid but alittle smarter! I don't have a drain......The 1.04 amp drain lasts only 30 seconds. then power drain is gone. Probably a fan in the main amp runs when the battery is first connected as well as system relay checks ..lasts 30 seconds. Hooking up the multimeter acts like hooking up the battery through it and so the system goes through it's 30 sec status check which looks like a battery drain. I probably have a suspect battery.

Is there a constant power wire that is for the radio memory?? Or it's completely unplugged?
Could be the battery isnt holding a charge, which means the battery will go dead even with no draw on the battery, take cables off the battery and try testing it after the cables have been off.
