Key question

Hi guys..

Little question about the keys of a 2005 SRT/10 QC.
I've got 1 key and 1 keyless remote control for my 2005 Ram SRT/10 truck and i like to have a second one before i ever lost it..
I found some remote controls at ebay and i asked one of the sellers if he could help me to find a second keyless remote for my truck..
I give him the P/N numbers so now i'm waiting for a response..

I also found some new uncut blank dodge keys for sale at ebay.. Did we have a chip in the keys of the 2005 SRT trucks??
Can i buy a blank uncut Dodge key (without chip) from ebay and let them cut later overhere in Holland?
Can i use the key for my truck after that??
Or is this not possible because the keys needs a chip before the engine would start :dontknow:
Please let me know..

You will need the key with the chip. And you will have to have it programmed to the truck. If you get the chipless key and have it cut or fail to program the chipped key, your truck will only run for a few seconds and then die. That's no fun.

Thanks for the information guys.. I hasn't bought the keys from ebay bacause i would like to ask you first about the chip in our keys..
So i must look for a key with a chip.. Maybe it's better to order if from a dodge dealership somewhere in the Us??
Maybe you guys know a good shop where i can find keys and or remotes with a chip for my truck??
I know about the matching numbers on the back of the remote(s) and if you have the program instructions for me?? this should be fine :rock:

Elwin you could ask a Dodge dealer overhere.(middelbeek)
I have 3 keys and 2 remote's.
1 key has a different color and a S on it.??

i'm pretty sure you'll have to get a dealer to make those keys/program them........
the remote programming is easy, it's covered in your owners manual........

Alex i doesn't know that Middelbeek could help me with a key and remote :dontknow:
I thought that i must look somewhere in the Us because we can't buy new Ram trucks from a dealership overhere in Holland..
When i've got a licenseplate on the truck i would drive to Middelbeek in Alkmaar and ask them for e second key and keyless remote for my truck..

You can order them off of eBay or contact Dragon at Avondale or Mopar Connection (both members of this site). You just need to be sure it is a transponder key for your model truck. Then take them to your local dealer and have them cut and coded.

Elwin they can order everything for the SRT-10.
It is not as cheap as in the US do.

you should be able to program the remotes by following the instructions in your owners manual
