Well, some kid in an older CRX decided to ride my ass in town and rev his tin can at every stop red light. Why does every single rice-mobile I see have multi-colored body panels? But I digress...

Well, I was headed for the on-ramp to the 4 lane highway, so I get in the turning lane. Here comes peckerhead, following me. So I'm rounding the turning lane in 1st, and there's no traffic so I nail it..hard.

I hit 2nd, the ass-end of the truck does it's token pivot to the left side about 8 inches as I chirp em', and I glance in my rear-view. To my amazement, the little shit's right behind me..Still on my ass. So I get pissed and wind out, almost hitting the rev limiter in 4th (don't know how fast I was going). The CRX hung with me the entire time.

I give credit where credit's due, man. You couldn't pay me to be seen in that ugly, oversized palmetto bug of a car, but damn was it fast. Kudos to that kid if he ever reads this. He's got one hell of a little machine. But damn, it's ugly.

Cmon Dude A CRX?? He must had major mods to hang with you like that.

Sounds like he might have had an after market turbo system on it. I once sat in one that a dealership had installed a system on. They said it would outrun Vette's. Power to weight ratio must be pretty good. I usually keep lots of distance from those cars with four different colored fenders on them. Tells me they can't drive and are always bouncing off things.

Some of them don't play.... ;) But, MOST are a bunch of posers. That CRX may have "only" been running about 250HP....... But, it also weighs 1200lbs stripped out.

Here's my other "toy"..... '93 Civic converted from 1.3L to 2.3L with other "goodies" I won't mention here. :D Fully built forged motor (same design/specs/parts has produced 327FWHP reliably). It weighs in at just over 1600LBS. The nice thing about these little cars is how inexpensive the parts are. We built the whole drive-train for less than $2000. We'll see how it runs at Oceola next year..... we're expecting low 12's. :burnout:

I just don't get the whole multi-colored thing. And no matter what, almost every ricer running 11's and 12's at the track still looks like complete shit. Come on, the least they could do is at least attempt to make them LOOK half decent.

One kid around here did an excellent job with a 93' MR2. Modded to the hilt with turbo, buncha other ricer shit I don't know about or understand, but he also did a really nice job with the outside and the interior as well. Very classy. It was a two-tone paint job (black and silver if I recall), nice racing seats, tasteful gauges, etc. Nothing too over-the-top.

My dad's also got a 93' MR2 that's sitting with a car-cover over it, and has been for years. It's bone stock and has about 150k on it. A diamond in the rough as far as I'm concerned. We're looking for a building to buy together (to store all our toys), and at that point I'm gonna start playing with that MR2. He doesn't give a shit. He hasn't driven it for 2 years because he lost interest in it. I think It could make one hell of a project.

.....

Mine will be flat black when it's done.... But it will be professional, not Krylon. ;) I think most that you see are just "works in progress". :dontknow: Just like the old days, they are trying to work on the GO before the SHOW. :) And then there are some that are trying to look like they are doing that. :dontknow:  .......... There are some really STRANGE kids out there these days. :(

Would he be interested in selling it? Where are you located? :dontknow:

Niiiiiice :) Love the Prelude motors!
Had an '01 'Lude previously, as well as 2 S2000's! VTEC FTW!!! :elefant: :D

The Frankenstein swap was a PITA..... But, it should haul ass.
I wouldn't mind getting a S2000 for Sarah, if I could find a nice automatic. :)

i might not be a big racer with my truck, but one thing i do know living in car mod central ( also known as socal) dont mess with a crx, any street racer will tell you those cars have unbelievable potential because of their weight

I'm in PA, but I doubt he'd want to sell it. Even if he started thinking about selling it, he'd kick the idea around in his head for the next 5 years. He's one of those indecisive types. Lol, that's why we've been "looking" for a building to store our stuff for the past 3 years. He just can't make up his mind what the hell he wants to do.

I'll run it past him though. Who knows, maybe he'll sell it. Aside for a couple of tears on the driver's seat and some interior wear expected on a car with 150k, it's in pretty good shape. The paint is good, no rust, no dents or scratches.

My Dad's the same way....

Let me know!

im bringing 2 civics to jeff evans tuning on wed. the one is around 650 pump, 725 race gas, the other is around 550 pump, 630 race. this was before th fuel system upgrades they did, so it'll be a bit higher. the one, beats hiabussa's to 200 mph ;) i love the srt, but the civics scare me too much :D the one kid is the reason my turbo is getting done, and i give most of the credit to him. hes 22, never had a "real" job, and is net worth almost a mill by himself. tonight he hand made intercooler piping for a turbo cive, all stainless and did it in 3 hours. he made $450 cash for 3 hours work lol

Looks like his CRX makes up in speed what it most certainly lacks in looks. All his dough was spent on the engine mods empowering him to regard your SRT with contempt. I will from now on be leery of such ugly machines. Great story though.
