KRC Performance was purchased by Watson Performance.

Read Marty has moved on to the Military and has been deployed????
I am one of who knows how many purchased the SCT tuners from him. I have never been satisfied with the tunes. I met Marty at a gtg and had him look and check the tunes had live updates sent to me on several occasions from him... Still disatisfied.. I am running his 91 Towing tune now and lost my oringinal factory tune from the start when I installed SCT tunes...

I have read a few times that the SCT will lock and has to be sent to SCT to be able to use another tuners tunes , Is this true??? What is the cost difference of doing that and installing tunes from say Torrie??? Would that mean I would have to buy another sct tuner and tunes??
Does this mean that things Like, SCT life time Live updates are no longer honored????

Seems like KRC has been 1 cluster F after another if this is true....

ooohhh gonna leave this one alone:D

send an email to [email protected] and have him straighten ya out, new tunes run about $250, but he can answer all questions that you have about your sct

I have already sent a email to Torrie and have a quote on the tunes Tony..
I don't blame you for leaving this alone lol...Torrie sent me to SCT email with the other part of my question.....And after many attempts never replied but did receive them as I have a request for receipt of the emails I send them...I hate poor customer service:mad: .....

The main question is ,would it be cheaper to buy a new SCT tuner w/Torries tunes??? Or send it to SCT to have it unlocked( If it's Locked???) or has a problem that has made my factory original tune disapear and then to torrie for his tunes???? I'm thinking I may have to buy a New one:mad:

when did you email SCT, alot of companies are closed down ,

but anyway a new sct with tunes from torrie "I think" so dont quote me, is $500

if you send in yours and get it unlocked I think it is $150 figure $25 shippin so $175-$200 area
new tunes $250?

so you are setting at around $450 to fix yours, if it can be, now Torrie may be albe to get you a stock tune, not sure , or at least close,

dotn knwo bud what to tell ya, when I get comfabulated like that, I usually thro it in the trash and start new:D thats why I stay broke LOLOL

Thanks, Your answer tells me more than you know Tony:rock:

And I fully understand your comfabulation :) Meaning , I will most likly end up getting a new on from Torrie.....

I emailed SCT several times in the last couple months..

Ahh I talked to Marty at the beginning of the year and he told me he was planning to do this! Never thought he would do it though.....When i got my SRT he offered to "liven her up" but I told him i wasn't going to do anything to it at least until after I got back;) Iv'e read plenty about him on here so I chose jsut to stay away but my buddy did have him do a TT setup on his RC and so far so good.....He was having problems and Marty drove up to Savannah to his house a few times to personally work on it.....I know people have had issues with him but I havn't seen him do my buddy worng, and he did his old Hemi and SRT:p ...But I still choose to have Torrie do mine:aetsch:

Yep, I am another that bought the tuner and tunes from him.
Just talk to Torrie and get new tunes. I've never had a problem with the SCT itself.

first of all, how did you loose your factory tune?? :dontknow: if you have the same sct that you bought from marty to install his tunes, that sct should have your stock tune in it....... if that sct has failed & lost your tune, that's not marty's fault, it's an sct issue........ :(

why do you think your sct is locked?? did you try to load your tunes on a different truck (i think i remember 3 times to different vins before it locks) ?? if not, it shouldn't be locked & you can load anyone's tunes to your truck you choose (i've heard torrie will send ya 3 tunes for ~$200.00)........

When I first Bought the SCT from Marty I was having problems with the tunes..He emailed me new tunes . I still was having issues with it. He came to a gtg and I talked to him about it. He re-did the tunes using his computer...Still had issues... So I tried to load the Factory tune back in the truck... It would only Load his valet tune Marty had put in the SCT as one of the tunes ...Still have never been able to load My factory tune and have no idea where it went. ...I asked Marty on the phone and in several emails about this ---He had no answer to give me....He then again sent me 3 tunes ---His Stock,Towing 91 octane and his 93 octane tune----These 3 work, but still not the way the my original factory tune was working..

I don't know if it is locked,, That is something I wanted to find out about after reading it on a thread or 2...Marty also told me that you can only load 10 tunes in the SCT ???? Not sure what needs to be done at that point... I assume it will need to be sent back to SCT.

Yes Torrie quoted me a price....and gave me SCT email address to try and find out about the stock tune issue..NO REPLY:mad:

I thought the SCT's had to be unlocked when you use them on another vehicle. If it only takes 10 tunes I'm about to run out I have the 3 initial plus 5 others me and Sean have tried to get my a/f right.

sounds to me like the stock tune loss is an sct issue, not marty's....
if you haven't been loading other vin's by trying to load to other trucks, then there is no reason to believe that the sct is locked....
sounds like you've got torrie sending ya new tunes, you should be fine..... hopefully sct will help ya on the loss of your stock tune, but i believe doubtful... if the sct tuner dumped your stock tune, then it's gone..... :(

you may want to do some research about KRC over @ cherokeesrt8.
good luck with the tune issue

The SCT only holds 3 tunes.

Never heard of SCT only holding 10 tunes total....Iv'e had way more than that in my SCT! It just only holds 3 at a time, if you want more you'll have to delete an old one first...The only way to lock one up is to use it on 3 vehicles....Once you do that you'll have to send it to sct so they can unlock it. If it hasn't been used on 3 vehicles and your having issues you'll have to contact SCT themselves to see was up....not the tuner;)

Jim are you saying Torrie is not getting back or SCT?....unusual for Torrie not to reply quickly...

Torrie replied almost the second I sent an email to him:)    And was very informative and helpful....If I decide I need tunes or it's cheaper to get a new SCT it will be through Torrie without a doubt ...

It is SCT that has not replied to my emails even when I have receipt that they opened them:mad:

I agree ,, I don't blame Marty... I am just looking for the answer as to why I did lose the Original Factory tune.....This will help me decide weather or not My SCT is ok ,,Or if I would be better off purchasing a new one.. The Stock tune gone or not accessible ---I just don't know... And SCT's customer service SUCKS:mad:

Guess I need a new tuner that can tune the STS. (Yes I'm still running the STS).

My SCT lost the stock tune about a year ago. Would not let me flash my truck with any tune. I called SCT and had to spend about an hour with the tech on my computer. He actually logged onto my computer while the tuner was hooked to my computer.....it worked after he finished...

I too purchased a SCT and tunes from Marty. We went through a few iterations to get WOT A/F close and I ran the tunes for some time, but I ended up sending my SCT to BG (where I had originally sent my PCM for programming before the SCTs were out) to get a couple put on it. He didn't seem to have any issue - turned it around in a day.

Emailing SCT is worthless. I've had good luck with them on the phone though. I too lost my stock tune during this. They helped me by re-creating one and emailing it to me. Uploaded just fine and passed AZ emissions just fine!
