Hey, just wanted to know if anyone had tried or had any experience with the Kumho tires listed in the link below. If so, how did they do versus the stock pirelli's? Thanks! http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fi...E&cs=305&dVeh=dVeh&vid=009060&rd=22&ar=40&ct=
No experience with that particular tire but the Impala SS community uses the 17 inch ones and has rave reviews. I wouldn`t downgrade to a lower speed rating. While you might not approach the speed rating ,the heat build up ,cornering ability and overall performance will be less with a lower speed rated tire. I went with Pirelli`s when I replaced mine.I couldn`t find anything better for my use.For $169.00 is was a deal too.
I ran them on my SS/T. As I recall they drove OK but seemed noisy to me, but that may be the nature of the beast. My Pirelli's are begining to growl a little.
Joe, I had these on my stock rims before I got my new wheels. I really liked them! They were a much better ride than the Pirrellis. Speed rating is lower so you gotta decide if you wanna live with that. I knew I wouldn't be seeing any speeds over 130 MPH on the road or the track so I went with them. 'There a quality tire!!
Tire Rack has these Kumho's for $175. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...se&partnum=04VR2ESTX&fromCompare1=yes&place=7 SD
I have the Kumho Ecsta tires on my 03 dodge ram with 22's.. BADASS tire. I love it. I've spent so much time eating crap and burning out and still have plenty of tread left. They also grip very well. When I get home, I'll post pics up of the truck so you can check em out.
They actually grip extrememly well an wear is even better, but they do have a lower top speed rating , but inless you are a dork and do overr 130mph on the interstate you will be extremly oky doky! The viper guys rave about the traction they get, not a bad choice at all, they are ten times better than the crappy pirrellis that come stock. St leat the Khumos will be round
Have a ball Joe! Nothing like finishing off the last few miles on those rear P Zeros's!!!!:burnout: :burnout: :burnout: :burnout: :burnout: :burnout:
Yea, they're getting pretty thin.... I had tried to find those on tirerack with no luck.... maybe I'm retarded, probably....
