L Owners Debate on what's Better

please stop postin stuff like this.... it makes me angry how ignorant they are.

Wildman

There are 11 L's in my home town right now and I have raced only two of them. The others won't run me after they saw me beat the first two. One was a 2004 with lots of mods. He claimed he was running 13 pounds of boost on his guage when we ran. He wants to run again now that he has 17 pounds of boost. I beat him by 1 1/2 trucks last time. If he has to run 17 pounds to beat my truck (more power to him). If I was that competitive I would install a Paxton, but I like mine just like it is.

500HP POS.

I just blew a 20A mental fuse reading that thread.

If anyone wants ammo for it, let me know. I'd be happy to fill up a big glass of STFU juice (facts).

Oh, and as for the video thing....
  1. Are there *any* L vids that *don't* show drag/street racing? I don't know about where they live, but the roads around here are a lot longer than 1320 feet. We have turns and stoplights as well!
  2. If you're looking for ghey background music for your videos try some Morrissey, or maybe a couple of Ace of Base tracks. Mmmm....c*ck-lickin' good!
  3. Let's not forget Trainman's awesome run last Sept.:

Oh yeah, and that's a 60 yr. old guy driving (no offense, Trainman).
I got so much more.

I find it funny that most of their arguments center around the price of the truck, the mods, and the gas.

Makes me think that they bought the truck they could afford, not the one they wanted! :D:D:D

The rest of it, I just chalk up to ignorance. Not to be confused with stupidity. Ignorance comes from the absence of the facts.

Good input Smoke and Stank!!

that's a pretty good thread. I have to agree with the fact that these trucks are basically equal when stock.

however, nobody mentioned what happens to an srt-10 when it's boosted! the L would never keep up with that.

Im with Kevan i couldnt even read it anymore because they are too full of themselves. Its easy to say that on the internet but in person i think their story wouldnt and couldnt hold any water!

Do you want to guess what their average age is?

Bill.

18-20? That's about right, given that they think 50K for a nice vehicle is too much $$

I am 19 and I have one... I still don't see how they can say these trucks are equal? stock to stock I pull HARD on a lighing.

19 and have one what? A 10? Great! But, that is atypical for someone your age. I think there are only a handful that are under 25 here that own one. The majority of people in that age group are not looking to buy a vehicle in that price range.

Take price out of it and this is the answer to it all, ironically, this is an old motto from GM..."There is no replacement for displacement"...I've said it so many times I'm blue in the face...Do the same mod to a larger engine, get more hp...nuff said

Preach on brother Kev..!

Fact is these younger guys knock it since they can't try it. Okay so a cheaper truck with available inexpensive mods up the ying yang is nice and affordable. But if I wanted to be like all the other 30+ L's I see daily then I would have certainly got one. In fact there's a black L sitting in a used car dealership by my house. They can hate the SRT’s all they want. I NEVER see these kids try that crap on a heavily modded SRT. Those videos are never shown. And I can hear them now…… “Well for about $60K I would expect for an SRT-10 to win.†Then they never think to mention the possibility that their “friend†that owns (or dad owns) an SRT-10 that they were racing against had no driving skills. “It was the pulleys that did it.. It was my 75 shot of NoS that did it.. L’s RUUULE while SRT’s play the fool..†Awe please. Ignorance may very well be an understatement.
