Im sure this has been mentioned before but I thought I would bring it up again. On 9/9 is the Laps for Charity at Texas Motor Speedway. http://www.texasmotorspeedway.com/visitorinfo.aspx?p=SpeedwayCalendar

I think this would be a great idea. Im going to go around asking for donations from people. Its $25 for three laps, so Whats better than driving on a 1.5 mile oval track and doing it for a good cause.

Whos in?

Looks like fun. Do you know which charity they are promoting?

Im not too sure. I will be traveling back to Texas on Tuesday so as soon as I get back I was going to call and find out. There is a post over on DTW in the Texas Chapter Forum about it as well

I looked on the web site and it just says children's charities of the 4-5 counties here in N.Texas, if does not specify which one...I think I'm gonna go do this for sure...this is pasted from the website:

Smith, CEO of Speedway Motorsports, Inc. (SMI), founded Speedway Children's Charities (SCC) in 1984 to help children in Lowe's Motor Speedway surrounding counties.

Speedway Children’s Charities distributes funds to qualified children's charities. All funds must be used to directly benefit children and their needs. Today, each of the SMI speedways has an SCC Chapter to enhance the lives of children in their respective communities. Since 1997, the SCC Texas Chapter has distributed more than $3.2 million to children's organizations in Denton, Tarrant, Collin and the Dallas counties.
