Can anyone in here reformat my hard drives in my two dell latitude laptops and reinstall xp?

This may not be a traditional response but...I have been very happy with calling on the "Geeks" from Best Buy.

Twice I have called them, in two different cities and have:

1. Resolved my problems quickly

2. Found a resource that will come back on their own time, to assist for a much more reasonable rate.

There should be a restore CD with your laptops that will reinstall windows and drivers specific to the laptop.

Just remember to back up all your personal files, as the restore cd will not save them.

i bought them used,no restore cd's unfortunately, this is my daughters laptops,i rather fix them then let her use my mac!

Do you have the XP CD's? If so, I can accomodate this request!

But you are 3 hours away! How would you like to do this?

On my dell there is a hidden partition on the drive.it contains all the contents as it was the day you plug it in the wall.on mine when booting hit control-f11...or alt f11.one of them puts you into a reformat screen.

Not every system has the restore functionality. What model are the machine's? Also, if you don't already have the operating system CD's, check the sticker on the bottom of the machine to see what version of windows was originally installed from Dell.

if i was closer i would offer to do it for you but you can probably find someone a lot closer to help you :)

with dell if you buy them new you have to purchase the cd. ive got a box at home that needs the same thing. they are like 10 bucks from dell

I'm jumping in late on this one, but does the laptop still have the Dell sticker on the bottom with the Dell Windows authentication number on it?? You will need this during the Dell restore process. I have tons of Dell restore CDs that I could send you, but you will need the number on the bottom of the laptop. If you bought them second hand the reseller might have removed that sticker.
