leaky tire

I am losing about 8 psi a week out of one of my tires, so I am guessing a leak. Question is do I try to use flat fix or bring it to a tire shop. The tires have 13k miles and I can't swing, nor need to replace all the shoes.

Any ideas?

Take it to a shop... Fix-A-Flat in these tires will throw off the balance. Plus, when you DO get your tires replaced, the guy dismounting the old ones will slap you in the face :damnmate: .... because Fix-A-Flat smells like 2 month old puke and baby shit, when they break the bead. :nurse:

It should only cost a few bucks to patch a leak that small.... My pass. rear has had a slow leak like that for over a year. I've just been too lazy to take it anywhere.

Most tire places fix them for free.

Could be the valve stem too. Simple fix. 2-3 bucks.

$5.oo around here. Just as cheap to get it fixed right.

Never put that crap in your tire. Beside making a mess, it not all that great on the rim.

Take it to a tire store and have it repaired with a patch. Also keep in mind that when you patch the tire the speed rating will no longer be good. TIre will be safe but don't be driving it at 100 + mph.

Don't let them plug it. It must be dismounted and patched from the inside. Plugging can allow air to get between the belts and cause separation.

you can have this done at your local firestone for $25.00. the reason it costs so much is that they have to dismount ,repair,mount & balance the tire...
