Most of you will not enjoy this video...but it really explains the difference between those who spend a lot of time dwelling on one side or the other of their brains.

It also accounts for much of the difference in views that we take on issues...

If you have 20 minutes...enjoy...on the other hand if you do not wish to understand the hemispheres of the mind...pass it by...it is a little esoteric.

Esoteric???:dontknow:

Well if it's got nudity on it, I can't watch it at work.;) :D

Non-offensive, off-topic...but you are so damned left brained that all the talk about the right brain stuff will be lost...but it is a long video, maybe best with a beer in your hand.

this was interesting as my Dad suffered from strokes which we eventually lost him to, we assume as he just never woke one morning. He too had left hemisphere, speech center, strokes. When I asked him how the strokes felt and what it was like to lay there until my self centered mother decided to check on him the morning of his first stroke he said he didn't remember. Ultimately I think that because of his post stroke communications issues he just wasn't able to verbalize what was actually going on and happening to him.

Now with my being right hemisphere dominate and my wife being from the other side this could illustrate some of the communications issues we may have... :banghead: ;)

Me too! My spouse is full left brain (inorganic chemist)...and I never go there!

I live in the here and now and never deal with the past or the future.

I have learned to just say "Yes, of course dear." Then do what I want and blame it on failing memory...

And you are correct my friend. I'm so left brained that I'm sure the right side has turned to mush. :D

That was fkn awesome, Roy.......

Not being a scientist or (really) even an academician, I thought this may be out of my league. but I believe that anyone who (in their own life) yearns for the spiritual unity and oneness of creation... who seeks the center of the Universe and pure consciousness can relate to the in-fkn-credible and insightful breakdown of the brain functions and the associated descriptions of her experiance.

What a wondrous gift she is and has to give by the sharing of this traumatic experience.

Everyone should see this........

Somehow I knew you would find that post Tim, and groove on it. She does make sense doesn't she!

I probably spend more quality time on http://www.ted.com/ than I do with my truck!

Listening to people who have learned to think and communicate, turns me on!

Any time one can witness the testimony of an intellectual who has experienced a true spiirtual epiphany, a life changing revelation with the poignace of this one... it is very simply, a free gift from God.......

I was blown away.......

Thanks alot....

Damn Tim, three words in one sentence that I don't know the meaning of. ;) :D

I'm thinking you and Roy need to get a room.;) :p

I do need to smoke a cigar with Tim...Maybe when the snow gets deep next year I will grab a couple of Don Pepin's and hop a flight to California just to smoke with my kindred brother.

Good post Roy:rock: That was interesting. My fiance's dad is having brain surgery after the wedding because he has a bleed:(

If you come out here, I'll supply all the cigars you'd ever want to smoke...;)

Indeed, Don Pepin Black Label 1979s are thee very best inexpensive cigar on Earth.... It'd be an honor to share the time with you, brother....

That video really was a power puncher.... She stood there holding a real human brain and spinal chord in her hands, just as cool, calm and academic as you please..... But when it came to the topic of her revelation and all that she'd paid to receive it, she broke down under the gravity of it all.......

Was fkn awesome..... bloody splendid....

And to think..... We got to see it on a hot-rod forum...... This place and it's members both rule.... :congrats:

I thoroughly enjoyed it! Thanks to you, that one and many others. I spent quite a bit of time already - watching her story, intrigued by Richard talking about exploring our ocean's worlds, humored by a gentleman that makes juggling look like an art form, and mesmerized by an 11-year old Sirena play the violin. I can only imagine how many more hours I will be on ted.com searching for interesting facts and entertained by fascinating people.

:congrats: :congrats:

 :turtle:

I also use the "yes dear" but only because I am sure to get the last word in and not offend, it works for anything at anytime. Then suffer from a memory problem also...

Was great post though. Will be sending the link to others. Thanks.

After searching and searching for this thread . . . I finally found it :D

I am downloading it to my iPod :D :D among a few other little tidbits
