What little traction I had, is long gone:( :D I'm not too worried about the track... I don't race much anyways. More concerned about the street. Spinning is first gear is OK, but I'd like to be able to atleast hook in 2nd.

What do you guys think I should start looking at? 4 link? Ladder bar?

Is there anything cheap and easy I can do until I get the funds saved up to go all out?

TIA,
Brad

Are you still running the 4.10's if not put them back in, That should help a bit. Mine does not spin much from a 20 roll, I met up with donny "alexpop" with his 4.88 :) :) :) :) must say much spinning going on there compared to the 10's.

Caltracs would be a good place to start. Excessive wheelspin is more easily controlled in trucks with a 4.56 or 4.88 gear. Just got to know what you are doing.

Traction

At this point suspension not your problem. As with any vehicle with the kind of power our trucks make tires are the solution and try an easier shift from 1st to second.

a four link is the best set up bud, but honestly its not cheap, I got the plans and all that I did up a year ago to do a kit, but inreality its just not feasable to do a kit
there is soo many things that have to be moved the fuel tank for one, but alot of stuff has to move around that it really needs to be on a one to one basis, alot f the kits out there could be used but there ends and the bars are jsut not strong enought for our trucks and hp

a ladder bar is a little easier, fab up a ladder bar adn put in place of the leaf springs but then still there are a few things such as exhaust that has to move around.

now you can remove the leaf above your main leaf in the spring pack, it will soften up the rear some so that wieght transfer is easier,

i did mine and it wasnt a huge difference but went from spinnning in fourth to chirping and hooking

lower tire psi to 22-24psi, thats how quicksilver drives around.

Good idea:D

maybe should consider a street tune?

What's the point of having the power if I'm not gonna use it:burnout: I could be like Dom, and just roll around on slicks:dontknow:

dont be gay and just light the tires up...who cares about track times...id rather brag about to much power to hook up than my ET

buit hten again thats how i got my screenname...hhahaahaha

well your gonna have to fab up a set, the hd ends and all, i got most of my stuff from QA1 components I think, they do alot of rock crawling trucks.

but you should be able to do a ladder bar set up for about 1k, and be safe, but then too alot of that will be you doing the work and alot of trial and error too bud

i got time now, so I am next week gonna start on the brutal 10 finally, gonna start by a diy section deal on installing the front bushing replacements then on the the rear axle from there

Man you are in CA right, Hell go to any hydraulic shop out there, They can do one for ya. If you were around here me and my friend could hook ya up cheap. Since your truck will not have a moving suspension like hydraulic cars do, You can run different styles of a 4 link.

its a real pain bo without doing a full rear frame section, it took months of figuring how to move that crap around without just chopping off the rear,

the four link is the way to go, but you need the angles and such done correctly to get the right traction or you will be spinning worse than he is now.

and the problem is the lower the rear goes the less room you got to work with, it can be done, but if your gonna do it, and spend 3-4k, you def want it done correctly

a normal drop and bag shop can do one, if thats all you want its pretty easy, but if you are looking for trackion and reliablitly and drivebility, then it takes a bit more

one thing I am gonna try to do this winter is get with the fab guy close to me and develp a new fule tank, now its got to be a oem replacement deal, so most folks can bolt it in, but with any fuel set up right now, you get to half a tank and run dry, but I want to move it to the spare location, that would make a four link or ladder bar sset up alot easier,

then tooo lovy , you have to think if you want to use air bags, or air bagsa dn sshocks or coil overs also,

coil overs suck on daily driving but are best at the traackk

bags work great daily, but arent great at the track.

see kindaa where I am going with this?

alot of things to consider:D

jsut because I chimed in dont let this thread peter out lovy like the lowering thread did pleas:)

I know i am blunt an to the point but we have alot of guys out there that dont post up, that I have talked to that have alot of experince and tons of knowledge, there are more folks with opinions than mine

everything can be improved upon:rock:

I say get a bunch of fat chics (or guys for that matter) and load em up in the bed

Hopefully more perople will chime in. Dom is doing a ladder bar setup in his, right? Where is that homo at:dontknow:
