It took me a while to find an email address for GWR, but I finally nabbed it.

I'm dying to send this out. I haven't seen any critiques so far; I'll take that as good news.

One thing that was suggested to me by a friend was a weight separation.
Something like:

• Under 5000 lbs. (2200 kgs.)
• Over 5000 lbs. (2200 kgs.)

I can easily add that to the letter. Let me know what you guys think.

I'm going to send it out late Monday evening.

I'm not quite sure how to do this:

Any specifics on the vehicle & performance you reference? The 5000 lb category is a bad idea in my opinion, the previous winner, Lightning was under 5k. Without there being a Viper Ram in production, it may be moot. I thought the def of a truck included its strength in utlity as in a legit frame? The Ranchero is a modified or hybred car in my opingion. It is the structure and utility that defines a truck. Not just its function. Removing the back seats and installing a bed does not make a truck. Not in the same utility class. Can it even compete with our 1/2 ton minimum carring capacity? I seriously doubt it is rated to carry 1000lbs.

The 5000 lb. number was simply a starting point, an arbitrary number. It can be 4000 lbs., or 3972 lbs., or whatever. I provided it as a possible option to GWR.

The Dodge Ram SRT-10 *IS* in production. Just ask all the 2006 owners.


But that's not the point, really. The point is that their definition of truck is incorrect.
