License Plate Bulb

My truck is in the shop getting new paint so I decided with CTC just a few weeks away. I would change all the exterior lights to LEDs. I'm ordering stuff and have run into conflicting info? Some sites say that the license plate lights are LED circuit boards while others are listing bulb 137. So I went to Google and searched forums and I see some guys saying it's a bulb and some guys saying you need to replace the entire assembly if it burns out? Can anyone run out and check or know if there is in fact bulbs or LED boards? I would do it but I can't.....

For an 06 you need 198 or 168 (I forgot) canbus leds. If you put regular leds they are gonna blink when you put on the flashers .

194's. There's a bunch of different numbers for the same bulbs.
I didn't get anything special for the canbus system.
