Our yearly ice storm hit us, it usually confined to just a section of the state. Not this year! Presently over 500,000 house are out of power due to lines being brought down by ice covered lines, or trees falling down.

Figure. I just cleaned up all the leaves in the yard. Now it whole yard is covered in downed trees limbs.

It looks like a war zone with all the fallen trees in the road. Thank god I have gas stoves in the bathrooms, or we would be frozen along with in the dark.

I feel for the power company guys. They been going at it since Sunday morning. It the worst storm in the states history.

So much for our Christmas party we were going to host at our house this Friday.

The SRT 10 by the way is safe and sound in her place in the garage.

Sorry to hear the storm is so bad ---glad to hear the truck is safe ----Now I know why I live in Florida....;)

Saw it on the news this morning. Nasty, but so beautiful as well. When the sun comes out (and powerback on), its a winter wonderland.

I saw a documentary regarding ice storms on the Discovery Channel. Those kids of storms are indeed diffficult to withstand. I'm sorry to hear of your dilemma with the ice. It's times like that I would want to do nothing but remain indoors, but with working electricity.

I feel your pain, my man. We did it here in Columbus a couple of years ago. It's beautiful, but naaaaaaaaaaasssstty.

It's one of the main reasons why I will put a power inverter in all my vehicles from now on- during that storm, I was a hero in the neighborhood. :)

.

I told my girlfriend last night, "well the hurricane season over in Florida, I guess we can move there for the winter".

There's no place in the USA where your not going to get some kind of bad weather, or natural diaster. i.e. fire, flood, mud slides, earth quakes.

Just part of living.

I beg to differ. . . :) :dontknow:

The area(s) between the "foot" of the Smokey Mountains and east of the Mississippi River do not suffer from seasonal castrophe(s). The areas I am referring to are Atlanta, Chattanooga, Nashville, Birmingham etc . . .

We (Chattanooga) do get the occasional remains for a hurricane (but it's just like having a severe thunderstorm), or a 1/50 year flood and this year a rare occurance of drought. The last substantial snowfall was 1993. Since, we've only got a few inches here and few inches there. I (think) this area is a pretty great place to live considering seasonal natural disasters. There isn't anything we ever have to worry about each year . . . :)

Sorry to hear the bad news, we are getting hit with freezing rain today also but so far its not that bad.

Bill.

I've been watching the news, you guys did get hit hard! It stopped about 20 miles West of us in NW Arkansas...whew!!!

We're about to get hammered with that same storm system, only it's gonna dump about a foot of snow here...not ice.

Yes, but the water eats your brains away. First symptom is not thinking that seasonal issues don't impact you, second symptom that follows in a couple of days is that your penis falls off.

Hope those in the way of the ice storm stay warm, hunker down, and hope for everything to be repaired as soon as possible. We take electricity for granted, life is miserable without it.

Spent lots of time at Ft. Gordon...have been to the Masters...caught a huge bass on a lake behind the commanding generals house.

Weather was super.

Met my wife looking for bodies and black boxes from a B52 that exploded just over the border in SC.

Never surprises me to see a disaster bring out the Chemistry in us all:rock: ;) :nurse:

Good chemistry...nearly 31 years now...

As soon as I learned from her that sex was out of the question, life got much better...no more drama, no more fights.
