hey guys quick question...how are most of you guys doin against stock or lightly modified lightnings? i know if i ask lightning guys theyre gonna say theyll kill the srt-10 but if i ask you guys please be honest and try not to be bias

Well to be honest a Ning is not even close...stock for stock :dontknow: Is this actually a serious question :confused:
 
well i never have done a race against the stock or mod lightning. i have heard alot of different stories about srt10 and lightning. i guess both of it is pretty fastest truck and im thinking to get me one too and is that a serious question, do u own a lightning or srt10?
 
a lightning. '01, 6lb lower, intake and exhaust. [email protected] 1/8. yeah its a serious question and yes i know its a stupid one. ive never been around an srt and there arnt any around where i live. i saw one do 8.5 i think but i didnt get a chance to talk to him

check out all three,,,, the mods are in the vids,,,,because between each vi the mods changed,,,as well as my driving,,,,,,the vette is my wife,,,,,,If you got a 6# lower I believe it would take more than a bolt on srt 10 to beat you...but I hope other people chime in because I would like to know if a bolt on srt 10 could beat a 4# lower L
 
nice! I am thinking to get '04 one but I couldn't find one yet. I know lightning and srt10 have a lot of stories about race but it is depend on what mods, horsepower and WEIGHT
 
Stock I can pull about 8.2-8.4 in the 1/8, and 12.9-13.1 in the quarter. A lighting stock is no problem, but ones they start modding it is close...

I have raced 2 so far. One with exhaust, CAI, pulley, (not sure which one) and chip. I beat him 3 times in a row 4 to 6 truck lengths. The second was an 04 with 13 psi boost, CAI, professional tune from somewhere in SC. I pulled him 1 truck length out of the hole and beat him by maybe a truck and a fender. He had some more work done and wants a rematch. We will have to see how that turns out. He really should be faster with that much boost.

yeah ive seen these videos on nloc.net and i know you from there which is cool because i was wondering if you were gonna post. its so close from a dig and a roll until you did your mods then it gets pretty bad
 
A few hundred dollars in mods in an "L" goes a long way. Mods for our trucks are big bucks...stock to stock the "L" just does not have the cubic inches to hang...with modifications...the SRT 10 needs quantum dollars to hang with a well prepared "L".
 
When my Quad was stock I raced a very cool guy that owned a 01 L he was also stock we made about 5 runs and we were dead even.. Since the mods he wont race.

i had an 04 lightning that was modded to the teeth i used to punish srt's, when i had basic bolt ons i used to have awesome runs with them wins and loss;s. but i never had a stock for stock run.
 
Tire make a difference also. Most of the L guys are beating SRT-10's on slicks. But it all comes down to mod and drivers.

Ive raced a stock L and its pretty close race you should win depends how well you shift.
 
I don't know how a lightning stacks up to a Harley Davidson truck, but I saw one of them get beat by pretty well everyting at the track this weekend, including an SS Chevy which was stock and the Harley was not. He had some mods, don't know what all, and was running slicks and still got spanked.
 
i raced many L's and only gotin beat about 3 time they had some mods and were on radials soo......
plus i need new tires i have no thread at all

Hi John, How Could You possibly hang with a Stock Lightning with that Junk stock computer that was detuned. It doesn't even have a kickdown from a launch. Oh By the way I got my stage 2 with 80 hp, and K and N cold air.
Do you think I will be between 12.9-13.2 In the 1/4 mile?
