Line lock question

All this talk about line locks lately, and I don't know what it is lol. Somebody wanna fill me in real quick so I don't feel like such a dumbass. Thanks

ummm don't know much myself. found this after searching a little.

A line lock (Fig. 1), also known as a roll stop, is an electronic solenoid which holds your wheels as if the brakes were on even when you don't have your foot on the pedal. Similar to a Trans-Brake, in racing it allows you to get your engine to launch RPMs before the light goes green. On trails rides it is equally useful holding you on steep inclines and precarious situations where you wish you had a third foot, particularly if you drive a stick. (It's also a great way to fake an e-brake during inspection time.)

I don't think many street legal use if for launching... lets you do a burnout without wearing out your rear pads.

Bo ya gots a button,you mash the brakes, you push the button, it controls the solonoid which in turn cuts the brake fluid to the front brakes and holds the pressure on the front brakes, thus letting you applly the gas , do a burnout with the front brakes locked

and the line lock will prevent that?

yes it saves the spider gears, and you can get a set and havethem cryoed to , to last longer
