For those guys that own RC and have line locks have you used or can you use your line lock as a launch control kit?

Basically get staged, activate the line lock, put it in 1st and slowly let out the clutch and accelerate without letting the engine die, slowly rev up the engine without spinning the rear wheels (sorta like a trans brake), and when the light turns green release the line lock and BOOM your off like a bat outta hell!

Would this be possible?

You would just be slipping the clutch to the point of wheelspin. Would wear out the clutch in a hurry. I always use mine to keep the truck from moving in the lights but I release it when I drop the clutch.

I'm didn't mean slipping the clutch. I mean actually engaging the clutch, and just acclerating enough to keep the engine running but not getting tire spin.

Was working on that launch... It is nice to get the slack out of the driveline that way...hit the button and go.:burnout:

That's what I'm talking about. That would relieve a lot of the stress those spyders go through when dumping the clutch at 4k rpm.

Ken - Were you able to do it?

'Splain how you can do that without slipping the clutch, your flywheel is turning but your tires are not.
