Ok ,,just to vent i have spent the last three weeks and three days talking to this guys lawyer and accountant ,,

now mind you ,,this guys says he is a willing seller ,,,but i have not yet got a P&L statement out of him ,in over three weeks ,,,and he seems to be miffed why i say the deal is on hold till i see it ,,

i dont think im asking too much ,,,hell its my ass on the line if i do this ,,i have known this guy for 25 plus years and did a lot of work for him and he seems to think i should just take his word on it ,,,i always knew he ran the place in a semi sloppy way ,,and made a lot of money doing it ,,,but im stuck on the idea of ,,,I need to do this by the book and not the cuff ,,,

Ironhead, I agree with you, business is business. Without a P&L statement the deal should be on hold. How are you to know if the business is headed downhill or not...

Dude, don't back down. Unless you are paying very little you need to see the numbers. Now, if you are paying much less than even the equipment is worth, I guess the profits don't mean as much as long as you know how to build the business. I haven't read the whole thread so I apologize if I am not aware of the deal. Also, here is a name idea: Pastinject.

i do know many of his customers ,,,but as the talking and dates started to come together he also tells me he has a lot of PERSONAL equipmet that will have to be removed ,,,,that really pissed me off cause now i envision all his good ol boys working for him are haul stuff out the back door as fast as they can,,,


so friday i told him deal is off unless i get a P&L Statment asap ,and an equipment list asap ,,,and he bucked up when i asked to have a list of the SO CALLED personal stuff being removed,,,now price of company is right were it needs to be but the lack of organizaition ,,,just is making me skidish!:mad:
 
Oh you definitely need an equipment list. This guy sounds like a flake. Good luck on the deal.

Think with your dipstick Jimmy. This is a business transaction. Don't let emotion get in the way. Get the numbers and what he expects to take with him. Don't let one pencil out the door that isn't on the list. If he takes equipment with him, he may be planning on staying in business as a sideline and possibly take some of his old customers with him. Don't mean to be all doom and gloom but be prepared for the possibility.
 
Well looks like a thread dom would rise ,but this deal just came back to life ,today in the strangest way ,,,buy hey a win is a win :D
