lol and thanks for the replies so far.

I found a red 04 with 11k miles for 25k. good deal or no? seems high to me to be an 04

Fair deal for considering the low miles but there are cheaper if you are patient..

11k miles is awesome. What kind of mods does he have? Know this, the stock clutch is weak and will eventually have to be upgraded......slave, master cylinder, PP, and disc. 04 has 4.10 gears.....ie they suck. Lots of folks have upgraded to 4.56 or 4.88. 05/06 came with 4.56.

Ask any questions, lots of people here with tons of knowledge on these trucks. We can save you time and money with mods etc...

i know about 2nd gear, my friend trashed his already. just out of curiosity, why do you think 4.10's suck? seems that there is more than enough power to run 4.10's and the mileage would be better. or am i wrong? i do know that my friends truck (not sure what year) does like to stay in lower gears to keep the rpms higher which also means the mpg's are worse. i know i know you dont buy these trucks for fuel mileage. I had a fast diesel and traded it in for a new CC sierra when diesel was 4.10 gallon. The new truck is now totalled and i want something fast again, dont get me wrong i loved my Sierra but it was slow compared to the diesel.

4.10 gear is hard on the clutch and it just freaken bogs when you take off hard. Truck weights about 5k. Thats a lot of weight to get moving. DC knew this and changed out the next year to 4.56 gears. When your moving in parking lots or bumper to bumper traffic you literally are pushing clutch pedal in and out to slow down. At idle it just moves to fast. Yes you loose some gas milage but like you said.....we dont buy these trucks for MPG.

Not sure what you mean about 2nd gear. Stock shifter is crap too. B&M makes an upgrade for $250 or something and worth every penny.

There are some must do mods with these trucks. Clutch system (when it goes), shifter and catback. If you can find a truck with some mods already done you can save thousands.
