If anyone has substantial experience with these blowers, please post up.

I'm going to rebuild my 572cid engine for my '36 coupe as a blower engine, and I could use some input on blowers. I had seriously considered punching it out to a 632 and running twin turbos, but it's just a bit much right now. By keeping my current displacement, all I'll need to change is pistons, rings, bearings, and cam (providing the bottom end was built as stout as I was told). I'm likely looking at 10k for the rebuild, blower, and fuel management vs. at least 20-25k for the bigger engine and turbo setup.

Not to mention a HUGE blower on this car would just look freaking perfect!

My objective is to be able to run the car on the street occasionally, but primarily on the strip (looking to run in the 8's). Since this is a fairly large displacement engine, a large displacement blower (thinking 14-71) would seem to be in order. Also, the larger blower would have to be overdriven less than a smaller one to make the same amount of boost. My idea is to use an EFI system, allowing me to run separate profiles for the street and strip, and two different drive pulleys for pump gas vs. race gas use.

I found a pretty cool EFI setup that would work nicely:

Running a dual 1200 setup with appropriately-sized injectors should provide enough air and fuel to feed this beast, and easily load different maps depending on what octane fuel I'm running at the time.

So, there seems to be lots out there in the way of variations on these blowers, and I could use a little more info than I've found so far.

Is it, really? a 632ci with TT too much....you already have a 572 that you want a roots blower on top of.

I think you should go with a STS on it. ;) :p :D

Sorry Eric, just could not help myself.

Personally I would contact BDS and let them know what you have and what your plans are. They will steer you in the direction you need to go.

Oh, you so funny!:p

Already spoke with BDS, btw.

Really looking for other members with actual experience with these machines.
