As I am sure everyone here knows I am furious at the actions of the judge in Rhode Island. There was another judge from right here in SoCal a few months ago that also drew my ire through ridiculous actions. I am seriously contemplating starting up a non-profit org that would monitor judges actions (maybe even prosecutors as well) and would lead efforts to remove these judges from the bench or at the very least stop their careers from progressing. I know that these 2 cases can't be anomolies, that these injustices must be occuring all the time. I really believe that this needs to be put in front of the public, we must make these judges accountable for their actions.

I want to know what everyone thinks about this, I really do value everyone's opinion here. Beyond that, any advice that anyone could give as far as trying to start this up would be much appreciated.

Don't know how to go about setting that up, but it sounds like a great idea!

I think it is ridiculous that he will not go to trial on that case, but a woman who spills hot coffee in her lap while putting on mascara, driving 60 mph in the rain, while on the cell phone, can get 2.5 mil from Mc Yucks!!

Let me know if I can help!

The power of the internet can do wonders. Look at what the Blog's did to Dan Rather's career.

The only downside to this is if (as I sure you are aware) you start pissing off the wrong people, of which Judges and Prosecutors are part of, they can make your life, and your families life's very miserable. They are like doctors, police, etc.. They take care of each other.

Take care and good luck.

Going the grassroots route will be your best bet. Getting 501(c)(3) status is not easy (but not too hard either), buy a book called How to form a Nonprofit Corporation by Anthony Mancuso. Make sure you set up everything as he suggests. Find a lawyer who specializes in setting up non-profits and get him to file for you.

I am sure you will find lots more people who have been screwed by the system and would welcome an organization to support and get behind. I am guessing there are at least 99 others feeling the same exact way you are right now.

Silver has a point, but there is also strength in numbers. If people (the system) actually know they may be held accountable for thier actions, we may see some change in the right direction.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

sounds like a wonderful idea, tougher laws for criminals is never a bad idea everyone needs to be held accountable.

I'm with you in spirit and effort ;) There is such discrepency in punishment across this country its amazing.

Now, who knows the details in regards to getting a judge dis-barred or off the bench ? County, State, Federal ? My father may know and can ping him over the weekend.
