I would like some input and advice about the rear spoiler/wing. It appears the wing on my truck is a stocker that has been cut down to fit on the A.R.E top. It wasn’t seated on the top quite right but I thought that was just the way it was… Now the POS seam where it was GLUED together in the middle is separating. ANYWAY… I was looking at going for an aftermarket wing but don’t want to go to a GTG and get lynched for having a LIGHTNING wing or something like that… I like the A.R.E. top and have found a few in the 150.00 unpainted to 300.00 range painted. The body shop guys have offered to fix what I have but won’t guarantee the job. I think if I go with an aftermarket pillar style it will look better than what I have now. Help the NOOB.:dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow:

Is there a person or company here that serves wings? (HOOTERS)

I have the same issue... Well, kinda. I was thinking of having mine molded to the tonneau for that seamless look. I think if you can find a good body shop you could do the same as well. Just my $0.02.:dontknow: WAIT, don't the '06 wings have a pillar in the center?

I would try and salvage the wing you have....

It looks like the OEM wing to me....... I'd keep it.....

It just needs a couple of steel stiffener( about 2 feet long like wing spars)rods imbedded into it , held with epoxy and refinished. you could easily make a center pillar also.

That is the style I was looking at. The prices average 275.00 painted to match. Is that about the ballpark price?

Just got installed my ARE tonneau cover to find out factory
wing does not fit...I still think truck looks bad ass without...
You don't really need the wing...The pic with the ARE wing
gives me a good idea what look like...I posted picks on this
forum (WINGLESS 2)...Good luck with your find...Let me know.:)

Why don't you sell him your old wing,, if you don't need it anymore. And make sure he pays in Canadian dollars :D

try e-bay they have an aftermarket wing that looks oem,235.00 painted.

Brat you looked at mine at the GTG. My A.R.E. bed cover doesn't work with the stock wing. I've found a few on ebay but I'm not sure which one looks the best for our truck.:dontknow: I do like the pillar types but they appear a bit narrow.

That was about the price I paid a little over a year ago. They have two options on the wing. One with a brake lite and one without. I went with the one without.

The wing you have right now is the 1st. Gen. OEM wing. It was designed to mount to the bed rails; not a tonneau.
No offense, but it looks like someone did a B-team chop job.

There are very few tonneau covers that will match up with a 1st. Gen. wing. I know Lazerlite covers do because I own one. :)

I believe the 2nd Gen. OEM wing will fit on your ARE tonneau.
It's a different profile/shape than the 1st Gen. and has a center support.

(If you decide to sell that chopped one, please PM me. Thanks)

We are in the spirit tonight  :D :D ;)

My Truxedo Lo-Pro rides under the factory wing.

I were going to do a hard cover I'd buy a Gaylord Speedstur top. It has a spoiler molded into the cover from the factory.
