Looking for suggestions

Metallic black (overlay gold flecks over black) with several coats of clear? I did a '67 Firebird like that once in 1972 or so, it was awesome...changed colors between black and gold depending on light and angle. Maybe some matching ghost flames?
 
My ideal paint mod....since I also have a black truck... would be simple....

.........a scoop outline like the one on 2ndchance's truck....

....only mine would be slightly different in color...anthracite aka anthrac grey.

Maybe side stripes from fender to the rear, gradually increaing to the end. Stripes along the middle look great on our trucks. The flames of course are ultimate, ghosting them silver with flakes would be pretty tight.
 
I will have to admit, I partial to Ghosties.....

oh yea, just being selfish again. But I don't think he would be very smart to paint his truck RED.

The guy who painted mine put together a paint board with several different shades over RED. Really helped. Had it for a few days and looked at it in difference sources of light. Take your time.

agree with stinker thats would be awesome, get theat guy from overhaulin to do the flames, his work is bad asssssss
 
The last styling concepts catalog had a Dodge truck on the front that was done in two-tone top over bottom that was bitching! I can't find the catalog or I would scan it in, and I can't find pics of that truck online.

only suggestions I can give you are #1 find the absolute best painter around, #2 don't change the factory color, to do it right you practically have to rip out the whole interior and paint it inside out,rip off the bed and paint the back ofthe cab plus the bed's insides, it's alot more than just painting the jams, #3 be certain with your decision, some where down the line these trucks will be very rare and command a premium price, one that has had it's factory color changed might be less attractive to some, #4 you have a black truck, black is a great base have some cool airbrushing or stripe layout done over your existing base then clear it, just my $.02:confused:
