Hello all,
I am looking to buy a SRT 10 and was trying to search a few things on them. The big question is "What is the difference between the 2004, 2005, and 2006?"

I searched the forums and really only found that the 2004 has different brakes then the 2005 and 2006. I probably haven’t searched hard enough.

I did come across wiki and of course it may not be correct.

------------------- 2004 2005 2006
Gear Ratio--------- 4:10 4:56 4:56 RC
------------------- ---- 4:56 4:56 QC
Axle--------------- Dana 60 Dana 60 Dana 60 RC/QC
Transmission------- T56 T56 T56 RC
------------------- 48RE 48RE 48RE QC
Curb Weight------- 5130lb/2330kg 5130lb/5330kg 5130lb/5330kg RC
------------------- 5618lb/2548kg 5618lb/2548kg 5618lb/2548kg QC
Gas Mileage-------- 9 City/15 Highway 9 City/15 Highway 9 City/15 Highway RC
------------------- 9 City/12 Highway 9 City/12 Highway 9 City/12 Highway QC
Of course Displacement is 8.3L/505ci
I have a 2002 Camaro SS at the moment and I know a lot of the engineering faults GM decided on like the lovely 7.5 10 bolt rear end (Piece of CRAP!) and in order to add more HP you need to change to a 12 Bolt or 9 in at minimum. The Dana on the SRT 10 should be strong enough for adding plenty of HP.
Im very familiar with the Tremec T56 (They are also in the LS1s) and are strong enough for approx..700 – 800 HP. Also I do believe the T56 in the SRT10 are strengthened from the factory (had this don’t on my Car).
Please let me know if anything is wrong with any of the information I have found. Especially the 2004 RC having 4:10s, Def a selling point for me!

Sorry about my ghetto table, worked better when I typed it in Microsoft Word.

the interior and headlights are different in the 06 models also

yeah i ve seen that in some pictures as well, and someone told me they are the only ones with heated seats :)

when i did my research, i came to the realization that the 2004 was the best year.
4.10's
if your on the highway, you have an ultra low cruising RPM.
to me it sounds like a 5 cylinder VW jetta, revved to 3500 RPM.
the 2004 had the best exhaust. only a muffler and 4 cats, no resonator.
i believe they must have changed the emissions on the 2006 for the new laws, but not 100% on that.
main reason was the 4.10's and the price is the lowest on the 2004 for nearly the same truck.

mine is for sale, if you want to save some serious coin.

the '04s were an option & the '05s & '06s were their own model.

the 4.10 was standard for '04 with the 4.56 standard on the 5s & 6s

Dont forget the knock sensor in the 05, 06 and the added weight to the 06

The 04 was an option?

to my understandin, yep.

from folks sayin their insurence was for a 1500, some info from ViperJeff, etc.

you had to check the SRT-10 box to get one.

My 06 gets listed as a Ram 1500 as well

ares. just so you know man if your planning on modding this truck on a stock bottom end. it has cast pistons with the first ring very close to the top of the piston. these motors tend to break after some more horse power is added. for instance my truck has 19000 i had a cold air intake cat back exhaust and a programer and a broken piston now lol. to forge this motor your looking at about 7000 dollars. its just a little bit of info i wish i knew before i bought my truck. but for the record it is the coolest vehicle i have ever owned. not to mention the funnest.
