Ok im starting to research about my brand new engine, mr 8.3 and well im a little flustered with all the options that i see and well since theres a bunch of you on here who have done this i need some guidance as to a few topics:

Heads for the engine:
(cannot find um online anywhere are there people just port and polishing the present heads or are there performance heads?)

Upgraded internals:
(Looking for stronger longer lasting materials that when im building im doing it right the first time not saying crap i really should of bought ....)

Forced induction/Intercooler:
(Any specific companys building and or creating parts for our trucks specifically?)

Twin Turbo Set Up:
(I like turbos but dont see many options from decent companys on a twin set up for the viper truck, is this the case, do i have to go custom?)

Finally a good cam would be nice lol.

Like i said this is my initial research so it will take me a little time to build up a complete kit for my truck, but advice on the trials and tribulations of parts and or parts working together would be appreciated and yes im looking at slicks eventually but i want to focus on my engine and HP/TQ first, and then ill throw those bad boys on. As far as what ill be using my truck for, mostly street but will take it to the track on and off during the summers for fun. Lastly, ive asked before but i am still looking for a custom fiber glass guy. Does anyone know of someone who will work with a crazy minded mod addict goof ball with insane non of this world thoughts? Basically i need someone to work out the details about lightning certain parts/pieces with fiberglass to get this heavy truck down a little bit in weight. Thanks to all answers ahead of time and id really appreciate your responces, they will help alot.

If I were to rebuild my truck and go the turbo/twin turbo route I wouldnt go to anyone but Underground Racing in North Carolina. Not sure if they do trucks but their track record with Vipers is second to none. They produce world record cars (7 second street legal Vipers) that are also reliable. It may cost a little more but you get what you pay for.

One stop shopping for every part of your build.

I bought my replacement motor from Kevin who is part owner of Underground Racing. He's very promt with e-mail replies (unlike some of our vendors) and is great to talk to on the phone.

You should talk to Bone and Nowwhat, they're both in the process of rebuilding their motors stronger with plans of forced induction and NO2.

For heads, I've heard of Striker heads.

Sorry I can't be of more help but those guys should definitely get you on the right path

Welll......:D

1st.....what kind of RWHP are you shooting for...?

without this target....can't really answer your questions...

2nd....don't forget leaving $$$ for the driveline....

With an RC you will need a good clutch kit. As Mike says, you will need to figure out your horsepower. A new rearend should be budjeted also.

Don't forget a proper shifter, the last thing you want to do is miss 3rd...

You can talk to Bone. There is a thread that was posted by Bone. The thread is "Pulling the engine....." in general discussion. You can check it out because there are a lot of good informations. As for twin turbo, why not you go with the paxton supercharger kit?

Lets see hp well im looking for fast but am not looking for fast and breaking something everytime i take it out, so basically as fast as i can that wont destroy the engine block havent settled on a number due to all the possibilities ive seen. My hemi before had over 440 hp to the wheels and i got tired of spending money to update parts to prevent breakage in the future, why i now have the srt. Im looking probably for 6-700 maybe. But if more is possible ill probably attempt it lol. As for Hennessey HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHA. GREAT JOKE! I wouldnt give him 1 cent for my money. And im going to upgrade the clutch and rear end, already figured id have to, gotta get some cash together and that clutch is first to go, plus i wanna teach the gf to drive it so when i purchase this kit im going to let her destroy the oem one lol. But before that i wanna send in some money to this forum because i really like it, just waiting for my new job to start in a few weeks things are a little tight right now and im starting this research to get a decent figure on what money is needed for my upgrades. Thank so far.

You have a strong engine to start with...if you are going to stay under 700 rwhp you may be well advised to stick with the stock rods, pistons, and heads. Now if you are thinking twin turbos then you are thinking over 700...so you need to decide. I say spend the dollars on a single turbo if that is your desire, or go with a supercharger, put most of your dollars into traction and drive train from the clutch back...

For an additional $20k you can have a killer street machine that will live a nice long life and be safe...
