Some people just dont understand that you don't have to be a bad ass dressed in black and have tattoos all over your arms and head to be a biker. Hell i'm not a "biker" I've got friends that are 1%. I hang out with them and see what really goes on "not what most people think" I just love to ride and it's my ONLY means of travel . And about the loud pipe issue... if i'm on the road at 2am on a friday night making my way home from work 40+ miles of the slab "Highway" I would rather someone in a car cuss me everytime I pass or even get close to them. well that is the big issue with this loud pipe saves BS. you don't hear the sound until they are past you. typically if i hear them coming, and i know they will be very loud, i crowd them just enough to scare them.
ride with a normal level of exhaust, because my new thing will be train horns.

its simple really. my hearing is super sensitive. (result of my condition, not necessarily a good thing) i can hear the clock in my drawer by my bed ticking, as well as the one 35' away on the front wall.
i can hear every sound the engine makes, and if something is not right just by the sound.
its also very bad at times... i hear the ballast on florescent lights, i cannot be in areas with loud noises, and what might sound acceptable to a retard biker is painful to me. so i take it very personal when the retards are over loud. i take no issue with the factory exhaust on a harley. but i love the sound of a nice BMW.
also hate fart cannons, but that is a bit off topic.
i have always wondered if you can safely put a 12G shell in them. if you have a range, and a way to remotely trigger it, try it sometime and let me know.

when the truck drivers insurance called i tried to explain how i tried to make them stop and how they nearly hit me, and how i had to swerve out of the way to not be in the wreck myself. i am thinking horns would have woken that 18 year old up. sometimes my siren is not enough.
and tooloe, thats some awesome welding, how long have you been doing it? i always wanted to try tig welding, i am afraid i would be no good at it. it would make aluminum easy to weld i would think.
