:dontknow:
I'm walking up to my truck today, and see a hose hanging from the drivers side of the truck directly below the rear axle. I imeadiately thought that it was a break line, but when I crawled under it to check it out I found that was not the case. I have no idea where this line goes to, so I was hoping someone here could help me out.

The one end of the line is hooked to a coupling that is located on the top of the axel itself between the drivers side rear rotor and housing. Both rear break lines attach to this coupling along with this hose that goes to something no more than 3 ft away. At the end of this loose hose is a white plug looking thing that is leaking either break fluid, or rear end fluid. Does anybody have any idea what this could be?

long time no hear Jimmy:D

the line is jsut the axle vent bro, no worries, it probably just unhooked from under the truck
just find a spot on the frame or near the spare and zip tie it back up.

preferably with the vent end towards the back of the truck.

They use a cheap clip from the factory and the zip ties work ten time better:D

i thought this thread was going to be way diffrent...... loose hoes? man i got screwed.

yes just an axle vent not trouble just wire tie it up. leave the hose with a little give for suspension movement.

Phew! That's great news, I thought for sure that was going to be an awe shit. Thanks for your help!

Don't listen to those guys.

The hose is really for flushing out the rear axle after launching your boat........;)

Your local dealer can get you the adapter that clips on the hose fitting........

Just put the truck on jack stands, start the motor and put it in 4th or drive with an auto, and let it idle while you flush it for about 10 minutes.......:)

i dont have to back that far down in the water

Eddie it doesn't matter, if you come within 50' of lake water you must flush after every 5 uses.....................

If you come within 100' of salt or brackish water flushing is required every time..........................:D

If this procedure is not followed closly there will be premature ejaculation of the drivers package.......................

After a few month the entire Kenerfener valve assembly could seize causing excessive transmission blowby.....................
