I installed the JTS 2/3 kit about a month ago. Nice kit and the look is perfect. The truck felt good before but feels much more connected now. The ride is firm but not overly so.
I did read on the forum about some alignment issues so I purchased the Belltech eccentric bushing kit for the just in case. I did find it for less by shopping around.
I also picked up a set of sway bar end links for the front and rearfrom JMB Performance to keep the sway bars level as possible.
I had access to a lift so overall the kit was not bad to install. The only issue, when I installed the new upper "A" arm bushings, the bushing flange was thinner than the stock bushings flanges. I had to move the bushing sleeves so the "A" arm fit snug in the mounts with the new bushings installed. If you are not changing all the bushings this should not be an issue.
Attached are the before and after pics. You can see how much the sleeve needed to be moved. All 4 needed to be adjusted. This is test fit and before the eccentric kit was installed and a pic with the eccentrics installed.
hey bwell, thx , i got all the bushings done last year, got the jmb end links, and qa1,adjustable shocks, so that's done, tony never mentioned getting a alignment kit, he did say to possibly modding the alignment slot, which will involve some grinding, not sure, but he was sending pictures of it done so, i will see, did that kit get the alignment in spec????
The alignment kit helped but the best the tech could get was a -.5 camber on each side. This gave a -.3 and .3 on both left and right at full turn.
It drives and feels great so I don't think the -.5 is a big issue, in fact a little camber is good for carving exit ramps here in NY. LOL. I am sure if you wanted it perfect making the slots a touch longer along with the kit you could split hairs.
I did not want to find there was not enough adjustment after the 2/3 kit was installed and have to install the eccentric kit or lengthen the slots after it was all back together.
tony did say some trucks line up and some won't, he also a half a degree out, so that's what you got , i will have it slotted just to be sure, thx , will post up when it's installed. where are you in new york ????.
I'm about 2 hours away from you guys, NEPA. I was planning on getting a northeast get together done at a track this summer. It would be great to meet some other SRT owners.
Also, dont forget to cut the rear bump stops on the axle. Mine were very close to touching while sitting. You can use a utility knife to do it fast. I left about 1/4"
Good point on the rear bump stops. I removed mine and cut them down but I did see on a forum where I gent did a mod on one from a Jeep or something like that which looked pretty cool.
B3 on 231 sounds like a plan. About 5-10 from the house. The wings are pretty good and they have lots of different beers.. Will touch base. Mid week (Wed/Thur) next week looks like it will be good for me.
