LPG srt 10?

there are several guys over Holland way that have converted to LPG

I think more then half of the ram srt-10's here in Belgium and the Netherlands are running on LPG .
LPG is 3 to 4 times cheaper here then regular 91.

Maybe they could chime in on the power loss if any...

There is no power loss on a stock engine.
System can handle 50-60hp on each piston.
So 500 hp shut be fine with a V10.

What is the price difference in the US between LPG and regular 91??
You need 20% more LPG to get the same power.
LPG system is not cheap to install.

Hi,
My truck is LPG converted.
LPG is the same as Propane by the way.

There are converters on eBay that will fill your tank from a propane bottle.

I would say the truck is about 85-90% the power and 90% the economy of running on Petrol.

The good thing is in the UK, petrol is 90p a litre ($1.35) and LPG is only 42.9p ($0.64) so you are saving over 50%.

I got the tank fitted underneath the bed in the spare wheel well so as not to lose bed space.

If you need to impress anyone, you just click a switch and the truck is instantly back on Petrol.

If you live in Europe where petrol is very expensive, I would recommend it to anyone.

It cost the equivelant of $3500 to get it done so it will take a while to recoup the costs.

Propane where I live is still 1.99 a gallon, so probably no help to me other then a clean burning motor. Interesting.

that is so cool. (the shape of the tank) Can we in the US purchase that tank and set up.
How far can you go on that size tank. I remember as a kid we all converted over, but as time went by, gas prices dropped and everyone scrapped it for awhile.

I know the oil stays super clean when you run LPG.

That tank is the biggest doughnut tank available over here.

It's a 102 litre which will be around 26 US gallons.

Of that, they say you get around a 85% fill giving you 22 US gallons of usable LPG.

Yep, intrestin for a fact, i like how are friend can clickey the switchy and be back on gasoline, them euro dudes must have a passle of dough,3500 to convert.........I would use the dough for mods........... :burnout:

3500 is a drop in the bucket if you had to pay for petro like our European members do.

Gas is $6 a gallon over here. :argh:

Our gallon is a little bigger at 4.54 litres instead of 3.78 but it makes you think twice about LPG.

I had to spend $3500 on economy mods first., just to make the truck more usable.

Of course it makes it worth a bit more on resale too.

That truck that was shown in the first post must have been over here at sometime.
It still has UK plates on it.

I would have kicked the fitters arse if he had made my LPG conversion look as shoddy as that. :D
