Even though I haven't had the opportunity to purchase one of these fine vehicles yet, I still figured I'd chime in with my $.02 on the matter.
I had this same dilemna in my 31' Formula offshore boat w/twin 454 Mercruiser Magnum series engines. I went round and round with people about all these fancy aftermarket oils and additives or even just using regular off-the-shelf oil and filters. Well as you can imagine, these engines are workin' hard every second. Cruisin' @ 3300 RPM and WOT @ 5250. Nothin' but the factory Mercruiser Oil and Filters for me for 10 long years! Worked Perfect! Until I sold it...:shot: :bawling: You know $5.00 gal @ 25 gal/hour!
Same with my Ford F-350...Ford Powerstroke Diesel Oil and Ford Filter. Until I sold it...
Now, when I get my 2005 Dodge Ram SRT10 QC in black, it's going to run nothing but whatever was specified by Dodge, including the filter.:beer:
