Has anyone ever used the Lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer in their 10 before? I use to run it in my old dodge truck and never had any problems. I was thinking bout using it for the 10 but i wanted to ask first before i did it. Is it too thick for our engines or something else???:dontknow: :dontknow: I was going to use one quart of this and fill the rest with oil on my next oil change today.

Im sorry if i wasnt suspose to post the link.

Thicker oil = less HP.......are you having problems like burning oil?....I never put additives in any vehicle I have owned...never had any problems and put over 100K miles on some of them....just change the oil every 3K miles or less...

I haven't used any additives in mine ---but use to swear by slick 50 in my previous owned work trucks....there are several on here that have posted about this before ---I'm sure they will chime in --or do a search..

No i dont have any problems at all. Was just thinking about using it to help lube up everything. I had 185K miles on the my old dodge and it was still in excellent running condition but it was just a 2003 reg cab 1500. I change my oil every 3K miles as well but was just asking.

I wont lie, I tried it once. 9 quarts of mobile1 + 1qt of Lucas. I only did it because I was driving across country during the summer. I wanted some added protection from heat. Can't say that I seen a difference. I just changed my oil and I could tell that my oil filter had Lucas in it. Came out very heavy and slow.
I won't be using Lucas again on my 10. I'll stay with straight Mobile1 0W-40.

the oil stabalizer is excellent in big rigs, something that idles for extended times

but to me, personally in automotive applications it works, but it is a little thick , but using only a half a quart would not hurt at all, but would quieten down the lifters

but dont use the hole quart only a 1/4 to half

Yeah thats what I'm trying to do. Just quiten down the valve train. I wanna put 10w 40 in it but I only see mobile one fully synth.. In the high milage instead of regular 10w40 fully synth. Is it ok to go with the high milage 10w40? I have 72xxx miles on my 10

Yeah I'm deff a mobil one fan. Wanna go with a little thicker to quieten down the valvetrain. Would 10w40 high milage fully synthetic be ok?

Some here use Mobile 1 15w50....quiets things....I use 20W50 in mine.....the factory recommends the thinner oil (0w40) for mileage and emissons.....on another note 10w40 would be better in a colder climate..
