I was going to make a mix of engine oil (used) hydrolic oil and grease? And paint it on nice and thick.
Thoughts?

If you do that I'm comeing across the pond to collect it! You do know used motor oil is a carcinogen? (Can cause cancer)

Trouble is with the wax (waxoyl) stuff it can trap moister in there and do even more damage!

Haha. Trouble is they lay so much salt on our roads in the winter it's untrue!

Ok I've found some oil (not used) and some grease so I'm going to mix that and see what I come up with. I'll keep you posted!

Haha. Trouble is they lay so much salt on our roads in the winter it's untrue!
Apparently you never been to Pennsylvania! They spread a heavy brine solution all over every road at the slightest hint of snow! Then the salt trucks start up before the first centimeter hits the ground. Plowing is a last resort.

This is why people in the states buy a piece of crap. Even the Canadians are not crazy enough to drive these trucks year-round. Haha

Luckily enough I'm able to cycle to work so the truck will be parked up for the winter. It was more for piece of mind.
