Driving into work I tried to shift to fifth and it ground some but slipped in, as I came up on the following light I pushed the clutch in and stopped I pulled it into neutal and went to let the clutch out while sitting at the light and it learch forward and died, I grabed the shifter and wigged it, it was in N. The light goes green and I went to put it in 1st and it wont go, so I slow let out the clutch and relize IT STUCK IN FIFTH?!?!?!?!!? I burn the clutch bad and take off, I just got it to work and called the dealer, they said bring it right in and they will get on it. What is going on? Are they just screwing with me, and not fixing my truck? Should I go to a differnt dealer, even though this one has been working on it?

Thanks,
Zach

FYI: The truck has 6600 miles and this is what it's got.

Master and slave.
Clutch (because it threw pieces off it)
scyronizers
Entire transmition
and ather clutch and slave "because they installed it wrong"
two front door speaks
sub amp(caught fire)
emitions pump & senors
02 senors

and...

The gps still doesn't work, there is a weird noice coming from the rear end, and the gas gauge keeps going out... I WANT TO THANK A GREAT 5 STAR DEALER!!!!

Find out who that Dealer's regional representative is. He'll make it right. It should be the same rep for all dealers in your area. .

Good luck mang! :)

Zach, after reading most of your threads on this forum including your passes at HRP.....I'll have to ask because others are probably wondering too....

1) Do you think you driving technique or style are deteriorating your parts prematurely?? Possibly needing to upgrade a lot more things to handle the beating you put your truck through??

or........

2) Do you think you've purchased a LEMON??

if #2, then we have rights like the Texas Lemon Law.

Hope everything works out.

Esh

p.s. Not flaming you, just playing devil's advocate.....:)

Damn. That's sux! I would be mad if it happened to me too. Did you upgrade the clutch because the upgrade clutch is the must for every RC

I don't drive the truck slow, and anyone who bought a 500hp truck and says they bought it to drive it slow is full of crap. It's made 30 or so pass at hrp, I know that hasn't helped anything but I could see that being the problem IF I had a clutch that was burnt down or IF something literaly was snapped or sheered but it's not, the first clutch had pieces missing off it, a week later is when it go tthe slave because the clutch went soft, and it got the second clutch then(I don't know y). And the problems had been with 5th/6th gear which are un-used at the track? Like I said the track can't be good for it, and I have the money for the viper master/slave and cluch and fly wheel, but Clear Lake Dodge informed me that if I put those parts in the would not honor my transmition, or rear end warranty. So until my trans. is working for a length of time I am not going to do anything....

or........

I don't know about that, I bought it in Georga "used" with 720 miles on it. I don't what is up with that? maybe some one can enlighten me???

Like I said, Drag racing is not good for it, but the truck IMHO should be able to handle it...

sounds like a clutch issue...pressure plate, etc. It wouldn't disengage

I could still use the clutch, it was just stuck in 5th, but the shifter could still put it in any other gear, it would just lock every thing up. It was like it every thing was fine, exept it was in a permant 5th gear... I have been real nice to them but this time when i go get it I am going to tell them this was there last try to fix it...

About all that, i'm gonna have to put out a BS sticker too...
Don't know if this helps but..

EDIT: can't find a good picture of a T56 as most are modified for there particular application...

If you drive a stick(which you were) that doesn't make any
sense that it would just 'stick'in 5th. something got broke..
JMHO. ;)

I agree with, Roz. I have had some bad experiences with dealerships (or stealerships if you prefer) in the past because I am a pretty easy going and soft spoken guy most of the time. As a result, I have been forced to regress at times to my younger and more exuberant personality of my early twenties to get things done right. I let them know that I would not be leaving their facility until I was completley satisfied with the services rendered.

We all know that dealerships are there to make money first and foremost and so I really think that there are some dealerships that practice the act of verbally pacifying their customers just to get them out the door. Just my .02

....ahhhhhhhh The Saga continues. Taking the advice of some people, I took it to a differnt dealer (Allen Samuals). They took it yesterday, and just called me. They said yes there is something wrong with it there transmition guy drove it, the oppsite of what CLD(clear lake dodge)said; BUT THEY DON'T WORK ON VIPER POWER TRAINS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? They told me to come pick it up and bring it to the 610 location and they would work on it. I guess I will have to stop asking nicely...

3 quick questions.

1. What is the phone number to a corprate dodge office, to file a complaint.

2. Does anyone have an idea what this could be? First it would get stuck in first and wouldn't down shift, they replaced the transmition and now it gets stuck in 5th?

3. What is a cost of a rebuilt t-56, or does anyone know someone in the houston area that rebuilds them(I have heard some good things about joe honnycut). I can't be without a truck for this long, it's costing me more in missed work, rent cars and head aches tthan it is for me to pay out of pocket to fix it. If I can get it done for under 2,500 I may just do it that way. then I can do my clutch and other stuff at the same time.

I think its shifter issue dude. Something in the selection mechanism BROKE.

Does the shifter still go into the "gates" so to speak? Or does it wobble around like a tub of jello?

Oh, and after several pulls from a dead-stop in 5th, you can kiss your clutch good-bye. :)

Good luck dude.

I thought it felt like the shifter was disconnecting from the base, or the shift fork was not staying where it should...

It's working fine now, but the next time it messes up I am going to check it out myself...

5th from a dead stop 3 times... I know the clutch is gone...

...ok I may regret posting this but here is an FYI:

opps.... ok here is the rest : I was running next to someone last and it got stuck in 5th or 4th we couldn't feel exactly . Many people off the forums were there to see it, I woke up this morning I call the dealer ;and for the first time I got "a tone to my voice" and asked 3 things, The clutch is either cooked or going to be soon, I want a new one. I can only take off in 5th so many times. Next I want a rent car on there dime that is comparable to the vehicle I am giving them. Lastly I want to talk directly to the tech and not through a service advisor, I want the guy that touches my truck to call me and tell me why it broke AGAIN and why he didn't see it before(the last 4 trips for this problem, making 11 total) . He then said," We shouldn't have ever worked on the truck in the first place, my manager said we should NOT have honor you warranty because of the way the truck looked like it had been driven."(Very nasty and yelling at me) I replied "ok thanks for your help, I will make sure never you use you again." and I hung up. After an hour on the phone with different people at Corporate I was put through to a very nice ladies that told me to bring it to make an appointment for Allen Samuels and then to call her back. I did and when I called her back she ask if I would feel ok bring it back to clear lake again. I told her no that I was going to lemon law it if they were my only option. After I said that she seemed to get "motivated" see put me on hold and call Clear lake then talked me into bringing it to them, but I wasn't going to talk directly to them I have a case manager that is going to handle everything... The short talk I had with the case manager basically stated that they wouldn't void my warranty and the he would take care of it ASAP...

BTW: I brought it to them 10am and it 5:45 and they haven't called me with any idea of a time to wait for anything or what’s wrong the truck...

so about the quick typing i just don't have much time...
