Magnaflow necks to 2.5 inside muffler?

Is it a gain to just go with a true 3inch like Borla or B&B?

I dont know about the neck-down inside the muffler. I do know you wont have a full 3" exhaust unless you change out the mid pipes too. The Magnaflow catback does neckdown to 2.5" in order to fit the stock mids. If you replace the mids with 3" pipes you can then just cutoff the 2.5" part of the Magnaflows and replace with 3" pipe.

I've heard this too, I think fstjack tested it out and its true... Borla is a 2.5 like the stock one, and I'm not sure about the B&B.

Yeah I guess im just going to buy some cat 3inch mids and Magnaflow.Then can add Bassani later.

The bassani headers are 2,5 too.
B&B is 3 all the way.

i asked the Belanger folks about that. they tested the full 3" to the neck down at the MagnaFlow & they said it was worth about 5 h.p. @ WOT on the full 3". so no big deal. :rock: :burnout: :rock: :burnout:
i wonder if there is a sound change with the full 3"??:dontknow:
