for some of you who don't know: i am a supply boat captain and work in the gulf of mexico servicing the drilling rigs and platforms,i just got word that
the company i work for is locking up the boats that aren't working (thats most of them) and sending us home.the "word" is we are NOT getting layed off:dontknow: :argh: i don't get payed when i'm home:dontknow: i guess i still have insurance (benefits).the company says they are going to re-group and put the extra personnel on the few vessels they have crewed and hope things pickup soon. don't really know why its so slow here in the gulf (there are so many theories, who really knows),but there is no new exploration or drilling going on (so much for domestic oil and gas production!)nothings changed we will still be dependent on foreign oil and gas for the foreseeable future! THIS SUCKS!:argh:
