I posted awhile back about getting ripped off by a Mazda dealer in the form of $142 dollars ($124 for a diagnostic fee and $17.82 for a filter housing I did not need).

Just figured I would post up that I got it resolved through Mazda and will be reimbursed.

Turns out the prick bag dealer lied to their district rep. They told him that the filter housing was cracked (it was not) and they replaced it (they did not) and the problem was fixed (wasn't). As a result the rep was not planning on being at the dealer the day I arranged to bring the car back.

Mazda let me take the car to another dealer to confirm what I had been saying all along. Oil pan gasket was leaking. Second dealer confirmed in about 2 seconds of looking at the car. Mazda then agreed to pay me back the money and apologized. Also told me the rep actually showed up at the other dealer to see the car and was not happy with first lying dealer when he found out I had been telling them exactly what was wrong.

Moral of the story. If you are right and get ripped off. Stick to your guns and get your money back. My wife thought I was nuts (well she is probably right) but screw it. It's my $142 and I would rather spend it on something I want, not give it to some lying scumbags.

Glad to hear you finally got someone to see that your car was not right.
