I have heard that the x-metal kits are the best to get. I really don't know because I don't have one. I am planning to get a x-metal kit anyways.

6 pack I am jsut wondering for my own pleasure ,but if ya get a chance pm me or here either one and let me know exactly what problems you had with yours.

but Krazy just remember to cut off the stock front bump stop and cut down the rear one also no matter which kit you get.

I think Both are great and you want go wrong with either bro, and I do understand the value of the allmighty $:D

thats whats great about this forum, we have choices, and while some is good for most, its not always best for all:p

The QC's are based off of the 2500 frame. Well the 05's anyway. All you have to do is look at your owners manual (They give it to you for a reason). It states it in there plain as day.

It's got lots of pictures Stinker.:p Have Joanne read it to you sometime.;) :D

I just spent 2 hours of my day, and acomplished nothing. I could not remove the coil from the suspension. Removed the shock, Used spring compressor to hold the spring compressed. Problem was the spring was so short, the compressor didnt fit with the suspension fully compressed. So I couldnt compress the spring enought to get it out. After many different configurations, and even trying another version of the parts store compressor... No go. Im exhausted, and upset. HOW THE HELL DID YOU GUYS GET THE SPRINGS OUT?:dontknow:

ok bubba here we go , plus will pm you my cell if you run into anything.:D

first properly raise the front of the truck and support it with jack stands on the frame just behind the front wheel, and make sure the park brake is on.

Now get the truck as high as possible .

next remove the wheel and tire assembly

then put the floor jack under the lower control arm to give support and put a small amount of pressure on it to raise the control arm about a couple inches.

remove the lower shock bolt completly and the sway bar link.

then remove the bolt on the tie rod and the lower ball joint.

next, now this is back yard style, you need a decent sized hammer, pound and a half works great. a reg hammer works, but may have to smakk it more than once.

but where the tie rod goes into the spindle take some typ of breaker bar, long rod, whatever you can and push down on the tie rod as if trying to pry it loose, take the hammer and smack the spindle where the tie rod goes thru, this should separate the tie rod.

now do the same for the lower ball joint, witha breaker bar pull uppward on the spindle assembly and smack the spindle next to the lower ball joint until it separates.

now pull upward on the spindle assembly, and set it on the back side of the control arm, and keep it there with a bungy cord , string , whatever works,

take note to be careful with the brake lines and any other connections.

now be very careful at this point, and slowly lower the lower control arm until the arm is loose from the jack, the spring will then slide out.

cut spring, and install everything in reverse.

once you do it , things will go smooth on the second side:D

I damn near lost my glovebox doing those kind of things

:D

I have the X-metal, and I am very happy. I thought about just cutting the front spring as I have done this before on another truck I used to own, but I wanted to keep my stock spring intact.
