Okay guys I gave the ol lady a lube change (2005 QC) and did my normal checks to make sure nothing is wrong and I got a question. Is this cable suppose to be this loose? and What does it do? See link to video [need quicktime]

I am sure by now everyone knows that I know - <---this much about mechanics. Any help or understanding would be great. Thanks again:rock:

Cable looks to be normal.... If it isn't shifting correctly, it might need to be adjusted, but I remember mine being that loose.

What are you talking about on the muffler? The video is pretty dark.... :dontknow: If you mean the dripping, that's normal. It's coming from the weep-hole in the bottom of the muffler. This is there to evacuate any water in the system.

You are correct, Sir.... (I thought it was the kickdown cable, but after watching the vid again.... the kickdown cable is the one below that one. )

It's all normal as stated above, if you have shifting probs have a tech adjust that cable, but the water is normal for rust prevention:rock:

Thanks all. I AM having problems shifting I think it is the solenoids but I wanted to make sure. Is the cable cruise control or throttle?

The cable you were fondling in the video was the cruise control cable.... The cable below that (with the large round black connector on it) is the kickdown cable.

I'm selling new solenoids for $75 if you looking to put some new ones in.

Thanks guys very much for your quick responses. I wasn't sure about the exhaust hole. I always thought a hole was bad. Never knew they were put there for water! Gotcha on the cable. Guess I will have to drop the tranny pan and replace the solenoids. Now to find the money from somewhere:(
